I was out there for a game I think if my memory serves me right for the last regular season game of 2009 against the Packers. The Packers won that game and then the next week had played the Cards again in the Wild Card game and lost that high scoring game.

It was a fun trip and enjoyed the stadium

No one is being sensitive at all... Most of the posts in here actually have nothing to with the topic, which is awesome.

Sorry Az folk, but the truth of the matter is that no one outside of the area is going to care enough to differentiate.

I could sit here and argue that Bellevue, Kirkland, Renton, Seatac, etc. etc. are not part of Seattle but you wouldn't give a damn. The fact of the matter is that they are all part of the Seattle METROPOLITIAN AREA, just like Glendale is part of the Phoenix metropolitian area. That is basically the only level that anyone outside of the area cares about.

So for anyone outside of Az, it is a stadium in Phoenix due to the fact that it is in the same population grid area.

I have no idea why anyone would care. I've lived in many major cities and it's the same in all of them. Nobody has ever cared before.

But there is 1 major difference in the Phoenix area compared to many other cities and that is how spread out it is. I've never seen a city that covered such a large area of land. It will take over an hour to drive from 1 side of Phoenix to the other side if you count the entire metroplex area - on the interstates.

Like in Nashville Tennesse, there are tons of little areas in it and everyone considers them "Nashville". But I can drive from 1 side of Nashville to the other in 30 minutes.

In the Bay Area, I can drive from the furthest point south in San Jose all the way past the golden gate in 1 hour. And that is driving across 2 major cities with a bunch of smaller cities in between.

So that is a pretty big difference and I've driven through so many major cities and nothing compares to that. Maybe up around New York is about it. Still, when people ask me where I live I generally say Phoenix. If the person lives in Phoenix, then I say the area. Which is what I do with any major city. If you say Brentwood, Antioch or Bellevue Tennessee, nobody is going to know what the hell you are talking about. But they are all really just Nashville. But everyone there just says Nashville and it's not a big deal.

The stadium is in Glendale. Not Phoenix. Crazy how many people get it mixed up.

Glendale is kind of a nobody town that has shot up out of nowhere due to UoP Stadium being built and the Yotes arena. Terrible location for both honestly, but Cards still sellout every game. I think our Governor is from Glendale so she's been pushing the agenda of that city for years now. Kinda annoying.

Downtown PHX/Scottsdale is much nicer. Just thought I'd drop this off for anyone that cares. ha.
