No. I never would have given Belt that extension he got.So you would have had Freeman AND Belt on the team.

Just random thoughts; never claimed I was an expert and can say with certainty, I don' particularly care to be one.You wave your hands in the air without even knowing what you are talking about. Educate yourself before ranting. It isn’t hard to find out how many years Rodon is under contract for.
Which extension are you referring to?No. I never would have given Belt that extension he got.
The qualifying offer he got before the season. I wouldn't have re-signed him. I'd have gone after FreemanWhich extension are you referring to?
Than you are a moron. The QO was only 18M and Belt was a no brainer to get a QO. And Freeman was not leaving Atlanta. That relationship soured well after the QO period was finished. The qualifying offer he got before the season. I wouldn't have re-signed him. I'd have gone after Freeman
Bullshit. He left Atlanta . 18 million for a guy who is always hurt, has played 150 games 3 times in 12 years, has cracked the 20 homer level exactly once in his career, has cracked 80 RBI once in his career, hits for a career average of .260. and has one big hit in his entire career. His specialty is cracking the 100 strikeout level, which he has done 8 times, every season where he had enough at bats to do so. Amazingly, he's had 4 seasons where he averages a strikeout per game. What the hell are we paying for?Than you are a moron. The QO was only 18M and Belt was a no brainer to get a QO. And Freeman was not leaving Atlanta. Why bad? He's a free agent after this year, we better get something for him! Right now the Yankees seem interested apparently.I sure didn’t like seeing all the hugs and kisses Rodin was getting in the dugout today after they pulled him. I have a bad feeling they might be letting him go at the deadline
I understand that he has a history of not being healthy and he probably considered this stint with the Giants as a time to show what he can still do and he certainly made his case. I was just hoping he might stay long term but teams like the Giants don’t keep the top lefty power pitcher in the gameWhy bad? He's a free agent after this year, we better get something for him! Well, I think there is a reason there was no interest in Belt anywhere else and he jumped at the one year deal the giants gave him. He’s just not very goodI don't think the Belt signing was a bad idea. The key to that is 1 year. I'm a big believer in positional scarcity, maybe even more so with the universal DH. So if you're not happy with him you can upgrade in the offseason (or probably in the next 2 days if you wanted to). Spoiler alert-there will be 1b/DH types who swing a good bat available this offseason. The thing you didn't want was to sign him for 5 years and have him continue to get injured and have his performance drop.
If anything it could have been a perceived risk of injury. Between 20 and 21 he played the equivalent of one season. But if you look at his stats for those two seasons I would say he was very good.Well, I think there is a reason there was no interest in Belt anywhere else and he jumped at the one year deal the giants gave him. Well in those two seasons he played in 148 games out of a possible 324. That means he missed over half of the games, but I guess if you extrapolate that as one season he has 38 homers and 80 RBI and hits about .275 and that's pretty good but he simply is not on the field enoughIf anything it could have been a perceived risk of injury. Wrong again. It was only a possible 222 games, only 60 games played in 2020. 2020 was a bullshit season which is why Posey took a break then and why the Dodgers title is kind of bullshit tooWell in those two seasons he played in 148 games out of a possible 324.
