He was decent. Reminded me of russ in seattle. Ppl thought he was better than he really was. Started hot and faded. The typical russ. Like in his”mvp” seasons where 70% of his tds came in the first half of the seasonImagine that … He did a pretty good job last year for the Steelers, would imagine you guys bring him back
RW was great when he was young and agile, once that faded then not so much, although his long ball remained really good. I'd rather sign RW for a one year bridge then sign Sam Darnold for three years at a high price. It's not even close, because Darnold isn't the answer to who is the QB of the future. Don't feel they find the answer in the draft either . So take the lumps and do what it takes next year to move up for a real prospect at QB and the hell with settling for second rate QBs and build around him that some seem to want to do. Building the trenches is a never ending process that require a lot to go right and usually it doesn't work out that way. The stud is aging (Williams). one young top draft choice didn't produce as hoped (Murphy) one guy is to injury prone (Nwosu) and don't even get me started on the OL. QBs last for a decade, heck even Geno lasted for a decade, so when a good QB class happens pay the toll and take a swing in the meantime continue the never ending process of building the trenches if you hit at QB you can use the most valuable draft capitol on the trenches and if you don't you keep trying to hit at QB. God I'm going to be pissed if JS signs Darnold for a shit load of money. He was decent. Reminded me of russ in seattle. Ppl thought he was better than he really was. Started hot and faded. Very fair on Russ. Im admittedly a Russ basher and always have been. I agree on basically everything youve said. But let me just ask this. Lets say you sign darnold to 4 years 120 million. Team option after 2 years. You mad? I admit me putting the option in there makes it more intriguing.RW was great when he was young and agile, once that faded then not so much, although his long ball remained really good. At this point, yes. Roll that cap into 2026Very fair on Russ. Im admittedly a Russ basher and always have been. I agree on basically everything youve said. But let me just ask this. I say no, don't do it. Need to find the QB of the future in the draft, not over paying for second rate QBs in free agency.Very fair on Russ. Im admittedly a Russ basher and always have been. Of course you don't know but what I do know is Geno isn't the guy that can get us back to the SB. I'd rather take a shot at an unknown young prospect over continually spinning wheels with Geno who has reached his ceiling.Well of course I don't know for sure

I admit darnolds intriguing. Hes still so young. He was really freaking good last year. He had a few bad games. But every qb does. Hes got a pedigree. He is one of the cast aways that I think can be a guy. Just me though.I say no, don't do it. Need to find the QB of the future in the draft, not over paying for second rate QBs in free agency.
Can't over pay for second rate talent at QB and hope you can over come it by building the team around said second rate QB. Got to go out and find the QB of the future in the draft and use that rookie contract to build around him. That's the cheat code in the NFL.Of course you don't know but what I do know is Geno isn't the guy that can get us back to the SB. Agreed! We could use some good luck on hitting QBoF.Can't over pay for second rate talent at QB and hope you can over come it by building the team around said second rate QB. Yeah he did tend to do that, get real hot then fade… His first several seasons will always be his best, he was SO quick, master at extending plays… He definitely lost that step, still has a great deep ball though, but he’s not what he once was …He was decent. Seattle's OC coached Darnold.Darnold is exactly as good as his team's oline.
How good is Seattle's oline?

Wow. I didn't see this coming but if Geno and his agent were asking for 40 mil plus, then it's a no brainer. Glad we got a 3rd. From everything we talked about this year, the middle rounds are the best value anyway. This draft really doesn't have much in the way of elite prospects anyway.
Agree with others, no fucking way on Darnold. Yeah, overachieved last season but the real Darnold showed up when it mattered most. Absolutely atrocious vs the Lions when they had a legit shot at the 1 seed and then even worse vs. the Rams in the WC. And it's not all because of Oline play. Darnold had arguably, one of the top 3-4 play-callers coaching him, by far the best WR in the game and arguably, one of the best #2 WRs and an excellent TE and RB. Darnold, frankly is worse than Geno, imo. Although younger. 30+mil would be a gross overpay for Darnold. He's a 20 mil bridge at his very best, which looks like last season to me. Don't be surprised if he just goes back to the same old Darnold. Last season being his outlier. Similar to Geno in 2021.
Now we truly rebuild, imo. No more patchwork shit and spinning our tires, getting just enough traction to be a marginal play-off team. Hopefully can find a developmental QB in the 2nd or 3rd and build from the trenches and defense out. No more overpaying for WRs like DK and QBs like Geno and Russ. Or just set ourselves up for the QBof in 2026 when there might actually be someone worth taking a chance on. I hate this draft for QBs. WE could probably just start Howell and plan for 2026 with lots of cap space. Or sign a cheap QB (like 10 mil) as a bridge. Wasting 20+ mil on a bridge is dumb, imo.
