The Sharks looked slower than molasses. Now Vancouver is a faster team than the Sharks, but they won the race to every loose puck. That shouldn't happen.
Turnovers killed this team in the 3rd period. There was a stretch for probably 6 or 7 minutes in the third (maybe a bit of an exaggeration but it sure seemed that long) where the Sharks couldn't get the puck past the red line. It was ridiculous.
Losing Demers hurts the Sharks two fold. One it puts them basically at 5 defensemen, Huskins barely played at all. Second it gives more minutes to Wallin. Not good. Demers needs to get healthy again and quickly.
It's already pretty obvious which team the league wants to win. Both the linesman and the refs favored Vancouver heavily all night.
It was a pretty poor game by the Sharks, and they know it. They didn't deserve to get the W tonight although plenty of things went against them as well. The effort in game 2 will be better and the Sharks will bring this series back to San Jose tied.
Tough loss, their 3rd line destroyed ours and then the Sharks got robbed a little by the boys in black and white tonight. Oh well, go get them next game. After watching this game, I'm still more scared of Detroit than Vancouver.
overall not a bad game but that call on Heatler for elbowing was a joke...and the Sharks lost their cool, Vancouver poured it all game long and i was impressed with the way the Sharks responded for the 1st and 2nd...just need to learn to play like Tampa Bay when the coach was quoted as saying his players play to win with a lead, not playing to lose.
this result does not sting so bad cause i was kinda expecting it, Sharks know they can win one in Vancouver, hopefully they will bring another decent effort next game and i hope that Demers is back, Huskins is horrible! and Vlasic was OWNED tonight, he looked like a little pussy.
I'd really love to see the Sharks go to the finals. Their efforts in the WCF to date have not inspired me with confidence however. We need more offensive production. Obviously Luongo is overrated. SJ needs to put more pressure on him.
