After Zito gets called up: Are the Giants going to go with a 6 man rotation? Are they going to option Madbum? Or are they going to trade a starter? If Zito flops will he be cut? Are there any other options? Am I asking too many questions?

No.

I wouldn't be shocked if Bochy went to a six man rotation. Further, it could showcase Zito for a possible (I know, remotely so) trade where we eat 1/2 the contract. I'd hate to see Song, Cainer, and Bum get fewer starts (and Timmy too once he reverts to his Freakness form).

On another note: we have one too many arms when Zito comes back. Boch can go with 13 pitchers for a little bit, but how about:

Mota to the A'ss for Ellis. Proposed roster:

C: Whitey, Stewart (until ChezIII is ready)
IF: Huff, Ellis, Craw, Panda, Fonty, MigE6/Hall (Burriss to AAA, Hall/MigE6 cut)
OF: Ross, Torres, Nate, Belt, MST/PTB (MST traded or PTB cut)
SP: Tim, ChezII, Cainer, Bum, Song
RP: Weez, Romo, Lopez, Affeldt, Casilla, RamRam, Zito

I think Zito could be used as a LOOGY/long guy/spot starter. I know that he's not done this in his career but IIRC he's open to pitching "wherever the Giants need me."

I wonder if Beane would like Casilla back?

I'm sure he would; I'm not sure I'd trade him for Ellis.

Worth thinking about, though. According to the Chron today, it is "likely" the Giants pick up Ellis. We need to get rid of an arm and the A'ss need a reliever.

After they waived him? Yeah, I'd rather keep Casilla too.

That's a good point; Beane probably wouldn't want to acknowledge his mistake. Mota is the only reliever I'd give up off the ML roster.

I have been observing that too. They have a similar problem as Zito/Vogelsong with Peavy/Humber. And with Peavy kinda fragile they figure 6 man works better.

What was the deal with Peavy as AJ yesterday?

Best I could gather Peavy got all mad at AJ for the pitches he was calling in the 6th inning, when he gave up all his runs. But they apparently worked it out like men and were joking about it postgame with the press.

Kind of pussy for AJ to keep his mask on during the dugout confrontation. Not surprising, though.

Lol, there was a thread like this with you and tzill I believe last year in which you either kept saying "no" or "yes".

Hey, it's a rare man who aspires to be Cal Coolidge.

I think that they are going to stick with a 6 man rotation for now and they're going to see if anybody will give them some doritos and an open box of condoms for a half price Barry Zito. If nobody wants Zito then I wouldn't be surprised if they shopped Sanchez around...thoughts?

I'd dangle Timmy out there to see what we can get. He's about to get expensive. Although, that could really anger the fanbase, and may run counter to The Giants Way, so it may be a total non-start for this regime.

That would be really ballsy. Although if half a season of an inferior pitcher can fetch Smoak...
