A long time coming! i was looking some stats up (mostly because I am a loser) and found something pretty neat.

At home the 49ers average 27.6 points per game on offense. They only give up an average of 10.8 points per game on defense.

The saints on the road playing outside average 25 points per game. Their defense gives up an average of 25.5 points per game.

Since the saints lost to the Rams, they have not lost a game. But when you look at where they have played it starts making sense why they got so hot at the end. The only game they played outside a Dome was against Tennessee and they scored 22 points while giving up 17. All the other games in which they score massive points in that stretch were inside a nice cushy dome.

I think this will be HUGE for the game. With the 49ers having 2 weeks to get healthy and look at extra film, and maybe a few extra watering sessions for the field, this gives the 49ers a distinct advantage that nobody is talking about. That and the Saints give up 5 yards per carry.

It's going to come down to how well the O-line handles the blitz.

Yeah, If Alex and Co. could step something up like a hot read to counter the blitz, we should be ok. But if he's taking a 5 step drop back and looking downfield, cant blame the OL for not holding up against an over-numbering blitz.

NFL.com news: How 49ers' defense can contain Saints' prolific offense

Sorry if this has already been posted, but didn't see it anywhere yet

the saints have fixed their offensive line issues so i dont think #1 is gonna work out very well. i think aldon or even sending willis up the middle could force brees to make a mistake. but then they'll start doing screens and if willis is blitzing our d could get caught. we're gonna have to save stuff for those 3rd and longs that the saints always seem to convert.

it's gonna end up being a real chess match on both sides of the ball.

Goldson and Whitner will be tested big time. If they get burned they have to make the tackles in the redzone like in the Eagles game to keep us alive.
