Not trying to speak too soon... But the two teams in the East to beat going by performance this weekend is Boston and Pittsburgh. Both teams look like the long offseason never happened.

I must say, the Pens look like they finally remember what got them over the hump in 2009...solid 2-way play and puck control. Too many unhatched chickens to even talk about, though.

I've only watched three games thus far, but that was by far the best. A mix of good saves, good scrap, good hits, good goals. (another obvious caveat: my team won so I'm biased).

Two solid efforts from the Pens to start the season. On the road against strong division rivals. I like it.

Malkin and Neal are looking awesome. Vitale with a great play to set up Kennedy, you have to think he keeps playing over Jeffrey after these two games. Defense looks like they've rebounded - Despres has ups and downs as someone said, but what a perfect bank pass to Vitale in the 1st. Crosby looks a little rusty, but that's normal for him.
