Funny or Die got a hold of the Giants playbook, so... we'll just have to pass this along to Harbaugh to complete the shutout.

Sorry if some of these are repeats. I don't have time to skim all the threads.

This has to be a thrill for a father to see both his sons doing so well. I'm proud of my kids and they are still in school. I can't imagine how proud I'd be if they are this successful as people and professionals.....

Sons' games pose a dilemma for Harbaugh parents

I saw a note somewhere today that we've injured 7 RB's this year....6 didn't return to game. Vicious!

Here is another stat:

The last time we played the Giants they blitzed on 10 of 32 dropbacks (31.3%).
Only two of those blitzes were more than 5 rushers (6).

Of the 10 blitzes only two resulted in creating pressure. (20%)
Of the 32 drop-backs the Giants created pressure seven times (22%).

The two sacks the Giants recorded came on 4-man rushes.

Before you posted this I was thinking about the part in bold.....our defensive strategies seem to be very similar at times. Granted, I've not seen all the Giants games this year but both teams seem to employ the "get pressure with 4 and drop 7 into coverage" tactic quite a bit. I hadn't really noticed it before....

I've got a feeling this is going to be a cage match. Not sure my heart can take much more of this, but I'm lovin' being in the mix!

Got to feel good about our team at this stage.....

I do wonder what the Giants will do offensively against us this time around. It's really the big plays and getting behind the LBs IMO for them.

Got to force Eli into some uncomfortable decisions.

Spot-on '71!

Us and the Giants both use a coverage strategy to create pressure & sacks as opposed to NO which uses a blitz strategy to create pressure and sacks.

And it is that aspect along with their rushing defense which has vastly improved. In their last five games the Giants secondary has allowed ~50 fewer passing yds/gm than they did in the previous 13 and their sack total over the same five game span is more than 50% of their season total.

Combine that with allowing ~30 fewer rushing yds/gm during the same five game span and it is easy to see why they are playing the hot hand right now.

Wonder if we can exploit their LBs with underneath passes to our quicks, like Kendall and Kyle. Walsh destroyed the Dolphins with that strategy back in the SB.

If you have NFL Network, the coach of the NFC Pro Bowl squad has his press conference right now, followed by the Giants players... and then at 11:55am PST the 49ers will start their NFC Championship pressconference. Scheduled to talk for the 49ers are Harbaugh, Smith, Willis.. oh shucks, I forgot the 4th guy... if there is one.

Or, if you're at work, or don't have NFL Network, and want to catch this on your computer somehow.. you can go to that Game Links thing RayDogg set up and find the post where I gave an option for online games, that website broadcasts NFL Network.
