Man, Belt is impressive. I hate all the Posey comparisons, but the kid has a great eye like Posey and, most importantly, seems unfazed by it all. Very calm.

Belt could end up being an ideal #2 hitter.

...and this is why the Giants will win a lot of games this year. Other teams are throwing their number 4-5 starters out there and the Giants are still throwing 1B's and 2's.

Not surprised it's Lopez. He had a crappy Spring; hopefully he can get it together without the pressure of a tight game.

So gp, will Schierholtz be the odd man out when Ross returns?

Perhaps too early to answer, but I don't see Belt going anywhere. And Boch will probably stick with the Burrell.

Surprised Schierholtz isn't in the game.

I think if they can get Rowand into a starting situation somewhere (outside of the NL West) they'll eat a significant portion of his salary. Otherwise I do think Schierholtz is the odd man out. But the Giants have surprised me by making the right moves for 1/2 a year now, irrespective of costs. Because I think the best move is to keep Schierholtz and dump Rowand.
