Just heard this on the radio: take away Bum's horrible outing against the Twins (1/3 of an inning, 8 ER), and his ERA is 2.85.

Ace numbers really.

Yup, Bum is amazing. Hopefully we slow down his work load the rest of the way. In fairness to the above though, if you're going to take out his worst game, you should take out his best game too.

I don't know if it would change all that much, but I think it would give a more accurate depiction of his season.....but I'm no statistician.

Really nice game. It's so weird seeing them play so good night after night. Of course it's vs bad teams just playing out the string, but still...bodes well for next year I guess.

The Niners are 9-6 over their final 5 games of the season since 2008.

I know the Giants are a much better team and have a better nucleus, but the fact remains that ending one year on a high note does nothing for the team the next season.

By the way folks, my most humble apologies for Cody Ross' injury. He was hitting so well that I picked him up on my fantasy team this morning.

Well, if Belt finds his stroke, Casilla shows closer potential, and so on we could see some dividends. I prefer going out like this to a shitty September, finishing with 80 wins and in third place...

Bum need's 6.1 innings to reach 200. He's got 2 starts to do it. What a milestone that would be for the kid. Cain didn't reach 200 innings in his first year and look where he stands with the organization.

That's exactly how my stocks work! When I get out of the market (selling Apple at 300 because it can't possibly go any higher) it goes up. When I get back into the market, (look, what a deal, Citibank at $45 a share), it goes down.

Stock brokers ought to call me every morning for "tips" on which way the market will go!

dude, Netflix :(

That stock entered the market at $5 a share, and now its up to $100+

I didn't buy because all the "experts" said there was no way the companies business model would last.... Fuck those people! They were probably Blockbsuster board members.

from baggs:

Brandon Belt homered for the second consecutive day and said he made an adjustment. He backed off the plate.

"Bam Bam thought that would work," Belt said of hitting coach Hensley Meulens. "I finally did what he told me to do. It's going to help. That pitch I hit (Thursday) night, an inside fastball, I've been taking it for strike three. It's just being in a good position to hit. When I'm just able to react up there, that's when I feel I'm at my best."

Sounds like my Netflix purchase at $30....looked great a month ago at $300....today, much less impressive. Mrs. TZill "Why didn't you sell at $300?!!"
