in his defense, it was a ball, at least according to gameday.

Yep, started off the plate, then late movement moved it off the plate even more. Great AB, shitty call.

No need to defend I am a big fan - he just seems to be able to have great at bat after great at bat chewing up pitches but in the end has nothing to show for it.

It seems to be 1 or 2 pitch homers or well hit drives or 8-10 pitch strike outs and nothing in between.

I want to seem him get on a roll and take all the pressure off.

I don't think it matters how hard he tries, he's always been a 4th OF, last season was a classic fluke (perhaps like last season for Panda, in the other direction). This isn't really debatable anymore, is it?

What a difference a park makes for hitting...I really do wonder about moving in the fences at PacBell...I think the benefit we get from the hitters confidence and production going up would outweigh whatever effects it has on the pitchers...

One would think that even Ford could hit one of these meatball fastballs...

Not for Cain or Surkamp!

They are both extreme fly ball pitchers.

It might mess up Surkamp but Cain is a horse, he might be ok with a little more ERA if he was getting more run support...
