Bochy, post game, being asked about starting Nate against a lefty even though he is (was) hitting .220 against them this year......answer: Nate has a history of hitting lefties well.

Subtext in answer, "get that weak-ass small sample size shit out of here."

Does vSong have a shot at the Cy Young?

He's four wins behind the NL Leaders, leads the league in ERA.

Gary Brown not in the SJ lineup. Rumors flying that he's going to the mets.

Uhoh. I don't know much, and Brown may be a small blip on the radar screen when it's all said and done.....but I like the way the Giants have been building recently.

Factor in all the luck (thanks gp, I now subscribe) that's involved with the playoffs and add in the Braves, Phillies and Brewers and it just seems even more of a crapshoot this season with or without Beltran. Just my humble opinion. I'd rather keep my cards and see how they stack up later.

While Keppinger may be a good pickup, why not bring up Pill? He is smoking the ball with power at Fresno. Kepp may be hitting over .300, but he walks about as much as TitoMac is right.

Wolf is a good pitcher, and patience is needed.

There is no position for Pill, unless you want to send Belt down.

Brown tweeted that it was a scheduled night off.

Seeing as he is stillnwith the org, I think it is safe to assume that is all it was.

He's four wins behind the NL Leaders, leads the league in ERA.

He absolutely has a chance. Prob is, he has no name recognition. He will need meet a few criteria to really have a solid chance, though...

1) he has to have AT LEAST 162 IP. The way his innings have (not) been piling, that is a legit concern.

2) he has to finish in the top 3 or so in ERA

3) he has has to continue winning games on an out-of-his-mind clip. If he finishes at 17-2 (or something similar) and is among the leaders in ERA, I am not sure they can NOT give it him.

He's on pace to go 14-2 with a low 2's ERA. He's on pace to barely get 162 IP. Then again, he should be better rested in September than Tim, Cain, or Bum, as he missed the first 3-4 weeks of the season. I'd say if he wins 14 and leads the league in ERA and pitches 162 innings, he's got a very good shot.
