Not so irrational. It was an easy call. Anyone with even a limited knowledge of the game knew that they would take away the run and try to make Smith beat them. Stop being silly.

Yea it's obvious they are going to try to take Gore out, and make Smith beat them.

Do you realize how many teams TRY that? it's a given every week, TRYING to stop our run game, and actually stopping it are two different things.

I think most pro teams are good enough to take away one aspect of an offense unless that offense just absolutely excell's at that aspect. I saw no reason to believe why a solid Giants defense could not take away the run and give a little on the pass. They'd rather take their chances with Smith than watch Gore eat up the clock.
