Red, There is no such word as "irregardless"

While accurate in technicality, the word "irregardless" has become part of the lexicon. The following comes from Merriam-Webster's online dictionary:

The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. Use regardless instead.

But I agree, Mozart. When I see somebody use it in writing, it rankles me as much as when people say "I could care less."
