Ouch. This team is still a playoff disaster waiting to happen. They make a guy in his first ever NHL game look like Roy.

I can't wait to hear Jumbo say "we played well, we just didn't get the bounces. We just need to play smarter".

Exactly the kind of game Minnesota loves to play. When I first started watching about midway through the 2nd I thought to myself that I wouldn't be surprised at all if the final score of the game was 2-1. You just can't fall behind against Minnesota. They have too stifling of a defense and the Sharks aren't even close right now offensively to being able to generate goals against this type of team.

Jumbo only plays when he wants to. People will call McLellan's ability to motivate into question but I honestly don't think anyone could get Thornton to bust his ass on a night where he's not interested. That's all on Joe IMO.

And I'm not saying Thornton is the only or even the main problem on this team either. Just one of many.

You think Joe made the 'slow between the ears' phrase to mock Todd? I remember Todd saying something like that earlier in the year. That would be a possible point of tension between the two. Maybe that's a good thing?
