This 14-touches-before-getting-it-into-the-zone "strategy" on the PP is full of fail.

What kind of coach teaches it that way? :L

Yeah, except they don't deserve a break in this game (don't know about Vancouver, sounds like they played decent enough in that one)...

Two post shots from not so bad angles. Boyle and Marleau. 4th line is gelling it seems. Burns need to get more accurate with his shot. I see him miss so many shots. Shooting high and/or wide. He should have 7 or 8 goals by now in the year with the chances he gets.

They deserved something from the last five minutes of the second. They dominated and created several fantastic chances. Nothing but two pings off the post to show for it.

I agree they sucked for the first 35 minutes. Still a goal there would have been huge and the Sharks should have gotten one.

ive only been able to casually watch this game....
….but we look good.
Maybe TM's lines are the product of a sick twisted genius mind….
then again maybe the guys are playing to save the coaches job….
or they were pumped up to play on a monday….

howdy boys..

finally found a good feed in time to watch the suckage... The sharks have some serious issues to work out. Their special teams are really piss poor (tho the PK has looked OK thus far in this game), havlat looks absolutely aweful as does clowe leaving the sharks with 4 scary players. Boyle is playing some of the worst hockey Ive seen from him in a looong time and burns is not the point producing machine he was supposed to be (not sure why on that last one).

The good news is that they have stolen enough games and won their 2 SO's so they still have a solid record. At home, they have had a total of 2 good efforts 9game 1 and the minny game) and other than that, very mediocre at best.

Their starts are absolutely pathetic so they play every game from behind it seems and simply arent ready to go.

It points to one thing... coaching. The PP is partly coaching (though largely skill), the PK is nearly all coaching. The starts being so bad is coaching. Right now, Todd is not impressing given his roster and that everyone is healthy so there are no excuses. If the sharks want to compete with the best in the west, they had better figure these bad habits out. The PK was bad last year and that was the #1 reason for the lost to the nucks. they fired (ahem, he left) yawney, and are now even worse. Argh...

W T F, how are we fucking losing???????????

Just walked in and turned the tv on.

The Sharks are playing uninterested hockey. The Kings are working hard and winning all of the loose puck battles along the boards. Hell, they weren't even puck battles, the Kings just got their first by a mile.

On the bright side, the farm is overproducing :-) (sgarbossa and F. hamilton are both in the top 10 or 20 in OHL scoring. Dylan demelo is top 10 in D scoring. Nieto is on fire leading BU (and he just turned 19 barely). Abelshauser is among the tops in D scoring, and cris crane is lighting it up for OSU. the farm hands, many of which are not supposed to be much, are pplaying really well, so at least there is something good to look forward to eventually... of course, that is until dougie deals them all....

Boyle performance issue is caused by his injury. Have a cousin that works @ Nordstroms in Valley Faire and said he saw Boyle walking around with his family and he had a serious limp. If that's true Boyle should rest until healthy.

On the other bright side, I love patty's play right now. He is moving his feet and getting a boatload of chances. he could have easily had a trick vs. vancouver, and should have at least 1 or 2 tonight. he is creating his chances, and that is great to see. he might be the only guy on the sharks who is playing well...

I'll give TMac until the end of this year. If the Sharks don't make the SC Finals at least, then I say one of two people need to go.....Joe Thornton or Todd McLellan. This team just has no passion from either one of them. It's all ho-hum and we respect our opponents. I'm not saying McLellan is a bad coach, I'm not saying Tortorella is a good coach.....I just thought way back when this team needed someone like Torts.

I like TMac as a person, and he seems like a very well prepared Coach from an X's and O's standpoint.....there's just (seemingly) no passion.

Well, let's hope for a good 3rd period.

EDIT: And we all know DWil will never trade Jumbo.

If that's the case, then there is absolutely no reason that in game 22, he should be on the ice. At his age, his ice needs to be limited, and any injury needs to keep him out.

Quite honestly, it's awful that he is still playing over 25 mins/game. He is 35 and his game is all about speed, not positioning. he shouldnt be playing more than 23 min/gm in my opinion. Pickles can play 23, burns 25, boyle 23. The rest can average 17 or so. Overplaying boyle is seriously awful coaching that will come back to bite hard in april.

Wow, Thornton passes it out of the Kings zone... into the general vicinity of the Sharks bench.

How can you suck THAT fucking bad, dude?
