2010 seemed like it was for all the Giant teams in the past that never quite made it.

2012 felt like it was for the players that never made it or like Panda and Zito who didn't contribute last time around

2010 was a lucky accident.
2012 was the result of good drafting, development, and shrewd acquisitions. Sustainable.

I'm equally worried about him driving down California Street in that 'vette.

Giant surprise: A World Series sweep - Stats & Info Blog - ESPN

The Giants seven World Series titles rank tied for fourth-most all-time with the Boston Red Sox. They passed the Los Angeles Dodgers for the second-most by an NL franchise. Only the St. Louis Cardinals have more among NL teams, with 11.

Giants pitchers held the Tigers to a .159 batting average, the third-lowest ever by a team in a single World Series. The only teams that fared worse than the Tigers were the 1966 Dodgers (.142) and 1969 Orioles (.146).

Giants pitchers allowed six runs in the World Series, tied for the third-fewest by a National League team, and the fewest since the 1963 Dodgers limited the Yankees to four runs.

The NL record is three runs allowed, set by the Giants franchise as well -- against the Philadelphia Athletics in 1905.

If I'm not mistaken, Posey called for the two seamer and Romo shook him off and went with the slider (pitch 5). On the last pitch, Romo shook off the slider and went with the two seamer for the K!

so do the tigers want to play some more?

awesome, I love it

Based on how the teams are playing now, if they play the full 7, the tigers get maybe 1.

After a couple of glasses of sagrantino I'm going to cap off this wonderful night by listening to my favorite song. Sing it Tony.

Oh, and I can't wait for sprint training.

That CF wont dive for anything

I gotta say, esp after looking at the replays, that in that situation you would think he would have been told to go balls out and dive for anything. With his speed, I think he would have had a legit shot to get a glove on the ball.

But hey, since they didn't want it, we'll take it. Our guys laid it all out there on D every time - Craw, Blanco, Pence, Panda, everyone. I can't think of a single time our guys didn't lay it all out on D, and outside of Fielder's futile effort on a foul pop where he didn't get that close, I don't recall any of their guys laying out.

The team that wanted it the most got it. And that's the way it should be.
