We've really got an easy road but the football gods know this transition is gonna be rough so they gave us this schedule to laugh at us.

Secondary Coach is Brian Stewart, who replaced Charlton Warren.

Warren went to North Carolina. Did you know that North Carolina has a pass defense that is in the Top Ten after this week?

North Carolina held Wes Lunt of Illinois to 140 yards. A common opponent to use as a measuring stick.

Interesting.

What fucking pisses me off is that TA got hit late out of bounds non of his teammates did anything. They didn't help him up or go and break a motherfuckers jaw. Pussy if you ask me.

I didn't see this play but, Have you seen Tommy play? I'm sure they just knew he was good. He leads this class. he is thee Captain. I wouldn't make faults where there are none.

I do recall their 3 losing seasons out of the last 5 over there. Also, where is Nebraska's passing defense ranked this year? You have some "splaining" to do! On the other hand, Michigan has a new coaching staff after what Michigan experienced last year, and look how good they're doing defensively?
Maybe I was not clear. What was Oregon State's passing ranking in the PAC last year? I asked because you are using 4 games at a new school combined with some flawed perception of this staff's history defending the pass while at Oregon State to argue that we may as well just say fuck it and replace the staff. Like I said before, early success in a coach's tenure is the exception, not the rule.

Oregon St was ranked 94th in pass D last year. Be concerned, very concerned.

I truly mean that.

The run D has been spectacular. As the year goes on the pass D will get better.

^^^ If you stuff the run then teams are going to throw the ball and apparently very well against this team.

Yea, the first step to winning is forcing teams to throw the ball.

We have accomplished that task. The 2nd step is having LBs that can cover the middle of the field. That is easily our biggest concern right now.

3rd step is just having corners that can go 1 on 1. Right now they aren't very good at it, but they'll get better.

My only concern is the LBs.

In the most potent passing conference in the country. By yards per game, Oregon State had a better pass defense than USC, UCLA, Oregon, and 5 other PAC schools.

i don't know how the DBs aren't concerning either. not sure if it's coaching or the guys just forgetting technique. even the horrible commentators we had for So. Miss pointed it out. you can't let the receiver go inside on a short play, make them go out and the throw is tougher. also, running behind receivers, when they should be playing in front. just things that you'd think they'd know already. it's really concerning to me.

I just believe it's a growth thing for the DBs whereas it's more of a depth/talent thing for the LBs right now.
