Glad to hear my boy Jarrett is looking good. I think he should make the team. They should give him a shot at punts.

Sounds like a good effort and good game, minus the TE situation.

I don't want to hear that the reason Capt Kirk looked fantastic is because he's playing 2nd stringers. He runs Grudens offense with more efficiency, and is more comfortable as a pure all around QB. Is he Tom Brady, no, but he's the best this teams got. Griffin throws 8 passes (two series) and is pulled. WHY? To protect him? This dude needs playing time, and more than anything needs to throw more.

Kevin Sheehan had a nice theory on why he (RG3) didn't play longer. Gruden needs a QB who can run his offense fluently (or more so) so he can evaluate all the other players on offense. So here we go again.... We all know what will happen. Griffin takes to many hits after he throws the ball because he holds it to long. Even the throw to Garcon was late. So what will we have.... a hobbled Griffin who is less effective to begin with gingerly walking up to the line to play QB.

Feel bad for Gruden that he has to play the guy he doesn't want too. Tell me I'm wrong.

You're wrong. That was easy.

The Coach clearly favored Colt McCoy to Kirk last year. Read that again, Colt Fucking McCoy. Kirk was 3rd on the depth chart to end the season and was in a dead heat with said Colt McCoy for the #2 spot entering camp. Not sure where you come up with the theory that he is the coach's favorite when there is no evidence what so ever to support that claim.

Never said he was the coaches favorite. I said he is clearly the most efficient at running Grudens offense. Lets get ready to enjoy our season with a QB who holds it longer then Ron Jeremy before letting it go. Lets get ready to enjoy our season of musical QB after Griff is hobbled. We all kno why Sherff was our 1st pick. We all kno why Griff is our stater. when the Griff experiment ultimately fails Cousins will come in ( since he will be our 2nd string.. Bank it) and we will look a different team. Tell me im wrong.

There is no doubt that cousins is more decisive in this offense. But don't you find yourself holding you breath every time he drops back to see which team he actually throws it to? Also, the real goal is to find out what griffin can become, not just evaluate what he is today.
Griffin looked ok last night. He did appear to keep his eyes downfield as opposed to the rushers and he did stay in the pocket a bit better. But it was such a small sample size that it was really inconclusive. He needs more reps. Don't know why they don't play him more.

Honestly - you & anyone else has no way of knowing whether you will be right or wrong in this situation. I don't play favorites & I will be thrilled if any of these guys do well for extended stretches this season. Until I see otherwise I will assume that none of them will & the future long term QB of the Redskins is not currently on the roster (again - would love to be proven wrong).

Even if RG3 fails there is no guarantee that Cousins will succeed. I really don't care what any of them do in preseason since this bears little resemblance to the regular season (as all Redskins fans should know by now). Cousins has to prove that he will not wilt in crunch time & that he can cut down on the turnovers (neither are certainly a guarantee at this time).

Here's to hoping that somebody shines (or at least provides major hope for the future) at QB this season. HTTR

sheehan 's theory is bogus foolishness. . KC does look to have a better handle on the offense and the team moves better with him in there

Thing with Capt Kirk is that he needs to overcome bad play in pressure situations. Not going to get that in preseason games. So not a true test for him really.

guys , Rg3 isnt going to play any longer then the avg starting qb will . look at mckown 1 drive , 5 passes, out of game and no one is screaming "more reps " . mckown is new to that team and new to that offense

in the small sample size Rg3 showed some good things and he did have accuracy issues but i wasnt pissed at his play

He's not getting as many reps as the avg starting QB. He's getting less.

It's not about moving the offense. It's about not folding under pressure in a game that matters.

understand but you cant do anything about that in preseason . al you can do is evaluate how the offense plays when he is in there , does he know the playbook , does he know what defenses are doing to him ?

my statement was he moves the team better then any qb we have on the roster. i never mentioned pressure situations and how he handle s them

i think its close to the same amount ,
I don't have the exact numbers but by the end of the weekend, pretty sure that 8 passing attempts won't be the avg number for Starting QBs in the bottom third of teams.

I Agree with you. I was simply pointing out KCs biggest problem doesn't show up in these games.

Because the longer he is in the game the more likely he is to revert to back yard ball, and the odds of him getting his legs broken doing that escalate with every drop back. Lets not mistake average for doing well. Every one says Garcon should have caught the deep ball, but reality is, if Griffin had let it go on time Garcon runs under the ball and walks into the endzone. Had he caught that ball, he would have still ended up sliding on the turf as he had to turn around and reach back for it.

The hope is that Griffin can become the most expensive Game manager every to be drafted. Anything more than that at this point would be a fucking miracle. :)
