Also...we aren't rebuilding. You don't go spend what we did on DeSean Jackson in hopes of rebuilding.

Nope...because that is ancient past. Where does he stand now? He stands as the fourth best QB in his draft class.

He stands well behind Russell Wilson who is working on his second SB.

He stands well behind the overrated Andrew Luck.

He even stands behind somebody I didn't like at all in Ryan Tannehill.

Until he understands he is nothing if he isn't running, he will continue to be fourth best.

As someone posted in another thread knee jerk reactions is what has gotten this team in trouble for the past 15 years. Now you are ready to bail on a QB after he has played all of 29 games, half of which were very good games by the QB.

Were some of those sacks on the QB? Sure, he's still developing there. But give me a break with the 2 Pro Bowl WRs and a LT. Did you even watch the game? He was hit on virtually every throw, that's why they were forced to throw it short. And he was very very accurate on those short throws. Will he develop into a great one? Impossible to predict but I'll take my chances with a QB who can hit what he is throwing at and he can certainly do that.

You on the other hand want to cut bait and either give the ball to Kirk Cousins or draft a QB. Both of those options are ridiculous long odds if your goal is to find a top QB. But by all means don't let facts get in your way.

he isnt interested in being fair about things as his distortion of my JC position indicates . he didnt watch the game yet "he knows "

i gave JC 3 years of playing . he didnt work out so i said stop gap him and build the LOS . no trades for DMAC , no gutting drafts for sanchez or bradford . yet that is 10 years

gk thinks he should eat sleep and drink football with no free time at all . if he makes a commercial he is a slacker

he also hasnt met a player he didnt want to low ball

again i cant say Rg3 wont be a bust . but i think the guy should get more then 29 career games before that assessment is in concrete . now after this year if it is still more of the same then i am willing to reassess things

but i give everyone a good 3 years this is year 3

if he cant see what a lousy right side of the o/line we have i cant help him . his dislike of and lack of any patience is the driving force here

Every time they raise the bar, you should lower your expectations.

That should be the unofficial board mantra.

Ok gk and shark, lets just draft a QB in the first round next year since you've both completely given up on rg3. If rg3 ever makes the pro bowl again for us and you guys start to praise him, we all can tell u to fuck off because u didnt support the young QB when he needed it the most

See the thing you miss is I support the team over the player in ALL instances. Who gives a fuck if he makes the Pro Bowl, we traded for a franchise QB to lead us to an WIN Super Bowls. Tony fucking Romo has made the Pro Bowl a few times, would you give up 3 firsts and a second for him?? IM not saying we need to draft a QB. But I do think the smart move would have been to make him EARN the starting role, which he hasnt. And I think all the RG3 fans biggest fear is Cousins would have beat him out if it had been an open competition for the spot. All the Redskins fans want whats best for the team, and some of us are not convinced Griffin is best for the team.

When should he have fought for the starting job?

Omg shark the trade happened, deal with it! I hated the trade as soon as it went through. He'd have to be Joe fucking montana to make up for that trade. Support the guy and stop asking him to unfairly live up to that trade.

From day one. the biggest mistake Shanahan made was naming him the starter from the moment we drafted him. And again this off season. I think the biggest mistake gruden as made thus far is saying every one needs to earn their starting role... except Rg3.

I would be happy if he lived up to the title of franchise QB that comes with being the 2nd pick in the draft. the trade just puts more pressure on him. You cant seriously think that if we had run any other offense in 2012, he would have been anything other than average. Kyle Shanahan made him Rookie of the year. Right now he is average, and I really dont think he will be more than average as a pocket passer.

Mayyybe I can see your point for his rookie year. Maybe. But he easily would've won the job anyway and everything else would've been the same. (The fame the obsession the whole rg3 craze) And its not like everyone in the world wouldn't have known he was chosen to be the savior of our franchise (right or wrong). And for this past season why would he have to fight for it? The past two seasons do NOT give anywhere near a reason for somebody else to start for him. And not everybody was fighting for a job this summer that's just bs. Did Trent have to hold off Moses all summer?

Actually the coach came out and said roster spots and starting spots would have to be earned this year. that was proven by us cutting three draft picks, which rarely happens in DC. And Im sorry, but when guys like Dungy can come out and say if there had been a competition for the starting spot, RG3 would have lost. To me that does hold weight.

Guys forget the trade. It has nothing to do with the trade. It has to do with the RG3's health, now and in the future..Given the injury his 'POTENTIAL, HAS TO BE RE-EVALUATED'. He will never run like he did in 2012 ever again!..not that it matters because he refuses to run anyway. Let that idea soak in and marinade for a while. If you can accept that concept then you have to start judging him solely as a passer. As a passer he is probably 25th out of the starting 32 right now maybe worse. Fitzpaterick is a better passer right now. And honestly, no one here can say there is anything about his pocket passing besides his arm strength that is very encouraging. Lets be honest, this is his 3rd NFL season and he looks worse than a lot of rookies and whats worse, he doesn't even realize it. He is a delusional primedonna.

I hate to say this but if he gets injured for year it would probably do the franchise a huge favor.

That's just not how football works. Rg3 did not deserve to have to fight for his job based on his career to this point and the fact that cousins and mccoy have shown no evidence to support them starting. Who cares if cousins could've won based on 4 preseason possessions. If Peyton happened to be outplayed by his backup this preseason should we be sitting here saying why the hell is Peyton starting he didn't earn it!!

As to what gruden said - I'm aware of what he said. But it's bs. Trent Williams was not competing for a job. Neither were orakpo, kerrigan, hall, morris, garcon, jackson, etc.

Good point about Gruden.....but let's take it a step further. If there was true competition and no one was able to beat out aan aging fading Chester nor our pedestrian RT why keep any of them?

Am I ready to bail...perhaps not. But he should know his job is not safe. He is under contract for two more years...he has that long to prove he is worth a damn.

I looked at halftime of the game...he was 15/17...and then I looked at like 78 yards. That isn't good no matter who you are. I have seen a few of the hits he took...he was obviously under pressure. Some of the pressure was on him. One sack was totally on him because he was backpedaling. An OT has to be able to push the pass rusher past the QB...you can't do that if the QB is backing up instead of stepping up.

IF RG3 is not running the ball...KC is a better QB. If we end up with the first pick in the draft this season...what do you do?
