Thanks man!

I just edited this post to express my joy. I'm touching myself now.

The thing is it might not be Jon's call if Thorne gets executed or not. People are speculating that Jon's death relieves him from his Night's Watch duties. If that's the case then shouldn't it take effect immediately? Or does he get to come back and be Lord Commander for a bit, execute some traitors, and then play that card?

Thorne might point out this technicality to save his own ass, or maybe Davos will to get Jon to join him and the Wildlings to head towards Winterfell. Meanwhile at the Wall the have another vote, Ed vs. Thorne. Ed wins but just as he's about to execute Thorne they get attacked by White Walkers, so he lets him live to help out in the fight since they're so short on numbers.

What's interesting about Thorne is he was a Targareyan loyalist, which is how he ended up at the Wall in the first place after Robert's rebellion. Probably a big reason why he hated Ned Starks bastard so much too. It could be interesting to see what happens if he lives long enough to possibly learn Jon's true parentage.

Good point. Jon's still going to be a in a pretty big position of power regardless but he may figure it's not his duty to punish them anymore if he's technically not the Lord Commander. I could handle it if they went this route even if it does deprive me of the chance to see Ollie get sentenced to be Wun-Wun's buttplug.

I don't think Thorne is going to get punished at least not executed. He did what he thought was right. My guess is he is going to join Team Jon.

Unless Edd has his buddy Wun Wun the giant pop Thorne's head off like a grape.

Jon knows that they'll need every man that can wield a sword in the fight against the WW, so if he is still considered the Commander and allows them to live, then this is probably the reason.

Even if he is relieved from his vows, I don't think he goes to take revenge on those that did harm to the Starks, but rather, he leaves and tries to unite all of the North (and Seven Kingdoms) to prepare for the WW. As such, he may need to take Winterfell and become Lord of Winterfell/Warden of the North or possibly be another King of the North to rally gather the necessary strength. This hopefully is how Ramsey is killed off, but as part of a larger goal and not solely due to revenge.

Where are all the wolves?

Rickon's is presumably still with Rickon.
Bran's is north with Bran? We did not see it this past week.
Ghost is still with Jon.
Robbs was killed at Red Wedding.
Sansa's was killed by Joefrey.
Arya's was "released". No clue what happened to him.
Well, that answers that...

So basically, a non-watch just killed 4 watchers, then declared another watcher the Lord of the Watch.

And everyone is OK with that?

The dude just came back from the dead and has the Wildlings on his side as well as a magical witch

Can you blame them for being a little flat footed?

Sure there is. Thorne is characterized as an A-hole of the 1st order, but a really good soldier. So he can die in the upcoming conflict to earn his redemption. Maybe a suicide mission.

Ollie gets to change his mind and offer up larger social commentary on judging books by covers.

If Jon let them live, they'd all try to do the same thing to him again first chance they got. Better to kill them now and put the fear into everyone else since the Jon Snow resistance is likely dead now with Thorne and Ollie.

Bringing the wildlings through the wall is why they killed Jon, and given their history, and their reason for being, a person can understand why they'd think that way.

Ollie watched his parents and siblings butchered right before his eyes. He doesn't have all the info about THOSE wildlings not being ALL wildlings like we do as book readers/show viewers.

If Jon is trying to convince doubters in the KW that he ISN'T a traitor to the realm, then him showing mercy to Thorne would be a good place to start (and they'll need every sword they can get)

Now as for where Jon goes now, I haven't watched tonight's episode yet, but I'm on the side of Jon's time as commander being just about over.

I understand why they were pissed and had legitimate reasons. What they don't know is what happened at Hardhome. If any of the Night's Watch knew about the massacre that happened there or had witnessed it first hand, they'd all change their tune real quick about letting the Wildlings through.

Fuck the ones in the Night's Watch that couldn't let their feud with the Wildlings go including Ollie. Time to get on-board or get left at the station.

Looks like Clegane-Bowl could happen. If so, there was quite a bit of foreshadowing of it in this episode.

I jerked off so hard to that picture of Ollie's dead body. Good stuff.

Glad the Arya story is moving forward a bit, but damn other than that bit of plot advancement and the stuff in the North the show is just kind of a snooze fest.

By the way, what' the deal in King's Landing? It seems to not even be an issue that Trystane Martell got impaled through the face on a boat docked in the harbor. You would think maybe that would be a point of discussion, being that a murderer is running around and all.

Was Bronn on the ship when that happened? If not, where the hell is he?

They mentioned in passing that they were looking for the women who killed Trystane and that they need to address the woman who took over in Dorne. The small council did not care about any of it, though.

Well at least I got that last part right! Heh. Oh, and I didn't get the impression that Jon was GIVING the KW to Ed, just that he was giving him a leg up in what would have to be the elections to come.
