Frankly, I don't believe anyone experienced either of those extremes. I think that's hyperbole, and the truth is in between.

Anyone that says it was crystal clear without fucking with their TV settings and/or room lighting conditions is full of shit. Same for anyone that says they had a blank screen for the duration of the episode.

We have a 55" 4K and were streaming it with 8 people over. No one complaining about it being dark. It was dark at times but we all felt that it was by design(like when the Dothraki charged the horde)

The saga is "A Song of Fire and Ice", which is more in line with what we saw last week. Book 1 was just season 1... titled Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones sounds much cooler though. I suspect that's why it was used, and had nothing to do with your complaint about those who recognize the conclusion of the biggest threat over the past 8 years.

Apparently Episode 4 was leaked online somewhere in Asia and there's some screenshots and plot details out there if you search for them.

I won't spoil any of it but let's just say some heads will roll tonight when people see this.


EDIT: I did some digging and found a post that outlines the last 3 episodes and the post matches the leaks from episode 4. If that post is legit, holy shit there are gonna be tons of pissed off fans

I read more than once this week that cable customers actually had more issues seeing the episode than streaming. I would have thought the other way...but apparently there is compression done on cable that contributed towards darkening it more.

I'm curious what you'd be so certain would piss everybody off other than a fan favorite dying, which shouldn't be a surprise at this point. I'm guessing that's not what you're referring to though.
