It was generally a season premier on roids. They have all been setup episodes but this one had so many major characters seeing eachother for the first time in forever, Jon finding out about his true parents, and a pretty cool tribute to the very first episode of the series. I'm good with it because you can see the rest of the show will be high octane.
I don't get the Arya acting weird thing.
i mean, they set up a fake feud between arya/sansa last year just so they could have that twist killing of Lord Baelish. maybe the writing just isn't always that great...It could just be me but Arya acts slightly different since she left Bravos. It is like David Bradley's portrayal of Walter Frey when Arya took his face … he played the character slightly different. For Arya it started with her meeting Nymeria's pack, it seemed like her voice and demeanor was slightly off and that holds through last night's episode. In all fairness it could just be Arya dealing with events but I don't think so.
Eh was an okay episode. I really could've done without the "I Can Show You The World!" dragon riding scene and stupid romance between Dany/Jon Snu while the dragon was like, "DUR make sure she's back home by 9PM!" I would've rather had that replaced by something else... like after Jon finding out from Sam - maybe some tense interaction between Jon where he knows and Dany smiles at him from a distance not knowing? That would've been more "OH SHIT!" then a stupid love scene thrown in there so the girls cream their jeans.
Game of Thrones S8: E1 - The Reunion
I also think they needed a scene of him training or else people would complain that he just knew how when the time came.well it also shows that Jon can ride a dragon, which is something only a Targaryen can do and it closes that loop and probably makes Jon believe Sam a little more when Sam drops that bomb.
They didn't seem nearly concerned enough about Viserion.Dany seems way too confident and cocky going into the season...I don't have much faith in her. She is going to rely too heavily on her dragons and it is going to fail her
one of the plotlines on the top that's going to annoy me this year; being mad at Dany for torching the Tarlys, she gave them the option to bend the knee or take the black. What third option did they want her to do?Dany seems way too confident and cocky going into the season...I don't have much faith in her. the episode last night ended at 10 and that was with me pausing and rewinding some. It was not a longer episode.I also think they needed a scene of him training or else people would complain that he just knew how when the time came.
Plus, half of the episodes are extra long so it's roughly the equivalent of 7.5-8 episodes.

so now you have a butthurt Sam, who will be standing between Dany and Jon...as well as Sansa who is asking Jon "did you bend the knee for the North or because you love her?"one of the plotlines on the top that's going to annoy me this year; being mad at Dany for torching the Tarlys, she gave them the option to bend the knee or take the black. I think you missed the part about half of the episodes.the episode last night ended at 10 and that was with me pausing and rewinding some. It was not a longer episode.
I even had a heavier pour of scotch and my glass was still half full when the episode was done.
So Bran is just staring down Jaime all because Jaime pushed him out a window years ago? Get over it, Bran. Go be a tree.

well, he also goes by the name Kingslayer, which someone else there might be interested in. I imagine the point will be to see if Dany can show mercy (even though that conversation between sam and jon was dumb)the episode last night ended at 10 and that was with me pausing and rewinding some. give him a break, he had half a glass of scotch last night, mind's gotta still be hazy...I think you missed the part about half of the episodes.
that's not riding it though.Well.... He already "pet" Drogon at Dragonstone, so ...
I wanted it all last night. 10 hr episode or nothing at all!I think you missed the part about half of the episodes.
it has been speculated in the past, though I feel like every possible storyline has.that's not riding it though.
I guess we are thinking Tyrion is also a Targaryen because he pet one too?
