They are deserving of a playoff spot - some ups and downs for them but to make the playoffs is a good accomplishment and will be a good experience for some of the younger players - it will be an interesting series against Washington

Incredible to make it in a transition year. Can't wait to see Giroux, Ghost, and Mason in playoff hockey. It feels great to be back

Ha they needed help for sure and they didn't make it any easier on theirselves but they got in and they should be happy about the accomplishment - hopefully they still have enough in the tank for Washington

We stumbled a bit in the final week, but Pittsburgh is the hottest team in the Nhl and we had to play them three times. Nobody is beating them right now. Plus, Detroit essentially had to beat us the second time or 24 straight years of playoffs would've ended. They did however lay an egg the following night. Every team has stumbled at times this season but I would venture to say that our record in 2016 is right up there with that of anyone else.

25-13-7

That is dominance, in many ways, and it's a playoff record too. We won a lot of games, but also got points in a pretty high percentage of games. Yes, we fumbled some points away, but when stretched across 82 games, that's close to 46-23-13, which would've been 105 points and 2nd in the conference (4th in the entire Nhl).

Our boys were 15-14-7 before the new year, so that's a ridiculous turnaround.

I think you guys will win this one, we're likely to play just to not get hurt. Bet we'll even start Jeff Zatkoff in net. I could see Wayne Simmonda having a big game today.
Do I get credit for picking Simmonds? Granted I didn't actually pick him to score the first goal and I typo'd his name, but I think I should get credit anyways. Why not?

Would be funny if I get credit for picking Simmonds tho, then I will have more correct picks than @mall3013 & @Psych-Ward combined :dhd:

Great win and the Flyers take the next step. It has been quite awhile since we have been in the post-season. We match-up well with the Caps. This should be a good series and I hope we take it! GO FLYERS DAMN IT!!!

To be clear I sure didn't, and despite the fact that they got in thanks to their opponents tanking the last 2 games I'm still incredibly happy for them. :suds:
Sup JBM :yo:

Long time no see!

Don't think the Pens really tanked, but the Islanders for sure did.

True dat and if they can keep up the pace of 2016 you just never know. I think they just need the 2nd and 3rd lines to pick it up as 1 and 4 have been good. Go Flyers!!!!!!

I don't quite look at it that way. We outplayed Boston and Detroit big time in the second half of the season and that is why we got in. Yes, Pittsburgh and NYI rested some guys in their 82nd games, but if we lost to the Pens on Saturday, we were going to beat the Isles on Sunday no matter who they dressed. We were 2-0 against them in 2016 and had outscored them 8-1.
