Way to not show up for the biggest game of the season so far boys.
Looking less and less engaged as the game goes along.
Beyond Frustrating.

Wow.. I never saw this coming. Ouch, this one stings and this is very telling that this corp of players currently on the roster are still making the same mental errors from the past. Being lazy and taking shifts off, bad penalties, etc. If you can't bring your A game to your cross state rival, then just pack it in.

If we don't bring everything but the kitchen sink in the third, I would bag skate the entire team. This is fucking embarrassing. We're playing like a bunch of soft, slow pussies.

It will be interesting to see how Hakstol handles this moving forward, because in a home game of this magnitude, this effort is far from acceptable.

Don't know what this team is doing today but they look paralyzed by the fear of success perhaps. So use to losing, they threw in the towel before the game began it appears.

Ever since we scored the goal, we've been completely lifeless. Before then, at least we were getting odd man rushes and power plays. It was a fairly competitive game. It has since become a joke.

So...as I sit here seething at this horrendous performance....
....this is not the end of the world. It may mean that the playoffs are less likely. It is highly illustrative of where this team needs to improve. That is never a bad thing.
Team wide compete is non existence since it was 2 - 1.
Team speed and puck skills need to be improved across the board.

Not the team we've seen largely dominating across the past several weeks.

It is in that the issues were there all along. The overall personnel needs to be upgraded.
A lot of the elements are there. The system is there. The lack of compete is the really disturbing thing short term

I still think one of either the Pens flatline the rest of the way after this big win, or the Wings will collapse. I still think Philly sneaks in. This may be another 2010 season where it may come down to the last game to get in.

I've avoided thinking about this abomination all day, but I'll say this: We weren't dominated. This fell on us. Simply put, this was just horribly sloppy. Every pass, zone entry, outlet, and dump in was met with a sloppy reception and a Penguin jumping on the puck. Hard to control any of the game that way

I'm willing to give them some credit for keeping after it, but we did not compete in this game, virtually at all.

We lost more battles in this game than perhaps any other all season long and it's predominantly due to being two steps slow for about 40-45 minutes and half a step slow for the rest of the game.

I consider this game a complete wipe. I can't take anything from it because we never really, truly showed up.

We play the Pens twice more yet, so I expect to take a lot more out of those games when we're more ready to play a hockey game.

This was a complete embarrassment on our part more than it was a dominant performance by them.

Yes totally agree I should have made that point clearer. If the pens were that dominant they should have killed them but the Flyers were still in the game although it looked like they would have rather been elsewhere. That's even more frustrating as IMO they gave them the game. Hopefully they learn from it...
