Randy said during a telecast that Moore can be traded to any team, right now, in the NHL and have an ex-teammate. Moore gets around, but that's a crazy fact. He knew Burns from the Wild.

In about 3 months, he'll have another team to put on his resume.

VP, As for moore's "fair shake", I get that logic. It's true that anyone stuck on a line with mitchell and zues is likely going to struggle. That said, Moore has been responsible for a whole bunch of the goals against with his own personal bad plays. It's not that mitchell or zues has flubbed all of his nice plays (though they have some).

I'm not sure what a fair shake for moore woulld be, as well. playing with jumbo? cooch? He's not that kind of player, so he's not going to get that chance. Given that, he may never get "a far shake", but I think in his 3rd line role, he should at least be even rather than so incredibly minus. If he has 0G, 3A, and +1, I would be just fine with the guy. Sad that he's not producing more, but at least he wouldnt be hurting the team.

Yeah I don't expect him to be on a line with the big boys either, that's not what Moore's intended role was supposed to be. But perhaps when Galiardi comes back, they can get something going.
Moore came to a new team, got injured, and is now on what i consider a spare parts line with Mitchell and Zeus (three centers). He's set up his previous linemates for some quality chances here and there but his linemates are not finishers so its all for naught. I don't want to sound like a Moore apologist, but he does need to get that fair shake imo. Bottom line, Moore needs to stop collecting minus ratings like it's a hobby.

Moore sux. period. why are we still talking about this guy? :)

you don't get traded that many times if you are a great player...there is something defective about him. anyways i don't think anyone is defending him but we can just stop abusing him, he sucks, anything we get from him is worth it, he will be gone after this season hopefully.

Yay! Reason! Even if you we're kidding and believe journeymen are inherently defective...Yay!

For the record, I think his journeymen status reflects absolutely nothing considering his price range and skillset.

I agree with you that journeymen status doesn't mean a player is bad. It may mean he's nothing special because teams are okay with him leaving, but the fact that teams want him does say something about what teams think he can contribute.

Prior to his professional career, Moore played for the Harvard Crimson in the ECAC, as did his two brothers, Mark and Steve. In 1999–2000, Dominic joined both older brothers on the Harvard Crimson ice hockey team, marking the first-ever brother trio in school history to play at the same time. Moore is currently ranked eleventh in all-time scoring at Harvard; he is tenth on the school's all-time goal-scoring list

Moore began his professional career in the 2003–04 NHL season, in which he split time between the New York Rangers and their minor league affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). Moore was a standout at Rancho Bernardo High School for football and hockey. Moore made his NHL debut on November 1, 2003, against the Montreal Canadiens, where he tallied three assists in a 5–1 victory. He became the second Ranger ever to score three points in his NHL debut with the Rangers, joining George Allen, who did so in 1938. Moore spent the majority of the season with the Wolf Pack
Moore with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

During the NHL lockout, Moore remained with the Wolf Pack; he finished third on the team in scoring for the year.

Moore rejoined the Rangers at the start of the 2005–06 NHL season, where he was placed on a defensive-minded line with Jed Ortmeyer and Ryan Hollweg. Through minor line-changes throughout the year, Moore has continued his solid defensive play and continued to improve.

On July 19, 2006, the Rangers traded Moore to the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 3 team trade.

On February 27, 2007, the Penguins traded Moore to the Minnesota Wild for a 2007 third round draft pick.

On January 11, 2008, the Toronto Maple Leafs claimed Moore off waivers from the Minnesota Wild. He made his debut with the Maple Leafs on January 12, 2008 against the San Jose Sharks. The 2008-09 season brought a new role for Moore as he was assigned to center Toronto's top scoring line with left winger Jason Blake. On March 4, 2009, Moore was traded by the Leafs to the Buffalo Sabres for a second round pick.[1] In the 63 games before being traded, he had already reached career highs in goals, assists and points.

On October 4, 2009, Moore signed a 1 year, $1.1 million deal with the Florida Panthers.[2]

On February 11, 2010, Moore was traded to the Montreal Canadiens for a 2nd round draft pick in 2011.

On July 30, 2010, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed Moore to a 2 year deal worth a reported $2.2 million.

On February 10, 2012, Moore was fined $2,500 for an interference infraction that injured New York Ranger Ruslan Fedotenko.

On February 16, Moore was traded to the San Jose Sharks along with a 7th round pick for a 2nd round pick. With the trade, it marks Moore's ninth NHL club and the seventh time in his career he has been traded.[3]

i'm not saying he is the worst player ever but let's face it, he wears out his welcome quick, that much is obvious if his teams are so ready to unload him...you have to look at it from both sides...not just the teams that want him for his potential.

Bolded for truth.

I was kidding with the "fricken great" phrase. I can't believe that you believed that I believe he's great.

Moore had a good run last year in the playoffs but he had some offensive skill on his wings to finish what he created (Bergenhiem, Downie). His wingers this season with the Sharks have been Winnik, Mitchell, and Handzus. He's not good enough to carry his own line, so he's going to need help in order to succeed.

sounds like a management issue to me or maybe coaching...either way, whatever he is doing on the Sharks is not working, he is stinking it up. if that is Tmac or Doug's fault, i would not be surprised...team need to get some chemistry and consistency, seems like there is none at all.

maybe Tmac should watch the film Groundhog Day with Bill Murray?!?!?!?

4 reasons why he is such a journeyman:

1. He has been traded so much at the deadline because the teams he plays for initially consistently miss the PO's. he has played on PO teams 3 times, and only twice with the team he started the year with.

2. He rarely works out well enough with a team he has been dealt to encourage that GM to sign him long term.

3. When it does work out, as it kinda did for tampa last year, they do retain him only to completely suck the next year.

4. he has a price that is extremely affordable and a supposed skillset that some GM's seem to value. And since the teams he plays for are usually in sell-mode around the deadline and have him signed short term, he is easy trade bait.

basically he has signed pretty much a barrage of one-year contracts because GM's wont commit to the guy, because they don't really like him. His only two year deal came after he was reasonable in MTL's run in 9-10, so tampa signed him for two years. Most solid players sign several multi-year deals because GM's know they want them. Nobody wants moore much.
