I don't know what it is about SO's and OT games that just seem to consistently get us. Some of these SO's and OT's losses just defy logic. I would Hakstol continues to address this enduring weakness in our game as we go forward.
Since I don't want to replay yesterday's game in today's games thread:
The league not suspending Simmonds and not have any kind of a hearing is NOT the league saying the refs screwed up. It is the league saying that nothing more than what was called during the game is necessary.
The most egregious thing from that game, and NO ONE has brought it up, was not the two head shots that Simmonds was subjected to, but the slew foot that Lindberg delivered to Laughton. If you watched it, it was a clear attempt to injure a player. No call made on the ice. No call from the league for discipline.
If there was a player on the Rangers to take out, it would be Lindberg. Why? Because a player who thinks that a slew foot belongs in the game is a player who doesn't belong in the game.
