Post ASG you can just about officially say that we're going down the stretch. If the playoffs are a serious consideration this is a game that you really can't lose. We are capable of beating Montreal and can't afford to drop two points to these kinds of teams if we want to be a playoff team.

Especially with some of the games coming up

If this team comes out of a long break with another losing streak, then they don't deserve to be a playoff team

Yup, this is a perfect example of determining your own fate. A playoff spot is there for the taking so long as you play like a playoff team. A bit redundant, but thats how it is.

Nice win. Simmer had two goals and Voracek with three assists. Mason had 30 saves. Petty darn good evening.

Only complaint is taking the foot off the gas and blowing the 2-0 lead. Other than that this was a very promising game. The magic of Couturier?

Sean Couterier...thats all I have to say. Had the pleasure of attending tonight, the guy is SO good. Anyone want to explain to me the Gudas major? I'll look for some explanations now that I am home but you can assume they werent playing the replay at the arena. From the look I got he went for the hit and slipped then unfortunate contact, thought they could have given him the minor but the major seemed harsh. That being said, my view was restricted.

Unfortunately, a few of our rivals also win, but we're tied with Montreal and Ottawa with three games in hand on them. I expect to pass them and Carolina for good. The challenge will be in passing two of the next seven teams to claim a playoff spot.

The good news is that none of those teams are currently ahead of us by more than seven points and we have games in hand on all but one of them. Time to make a serious playoff push!!

I don't understand the call either or when they actually made it. Either way, it was an opportunity for our penalty killing to redeem themselves and they did. Killing off a five minute major with the game on the line that late in the game is pretty impressive.

Really nice to have Couturier back, but also to sit Umberger in favor of Gagner. It goes without saying that he can produce a lot more offensively than Umberger.

Nice bounce back win after being up. Hate Les Habs bunch of cheap shot sissies out there and the refs eat it all up nice to see them fall apart!

Someone should look up our record when we have both Couturier and Ghost in the lineup. It is probably pretty superb. Obviously we expect them both to be playing major roles on our team for the remainder of the season and moving forward.

Of course, after saying that, I had to look it up myself.

14-8-5 with both of these guys suited up and they are just 22 and 23 years old respectively. The future is bright for hockey in Philadelphia.

NHL.tv is atrocious. Cut out a bunch, started the game over a bunch. They need to seriously overhaul their 'new and improved' system.
