This is why we have been to the playoffs 10+ times and never brought back the cup..
well, can the depth of scoring continue??? The big names had a very very poor showing and got straight up beaten from the kings' top 6 who scored 5 goals (well 4 real ones), to the sharks 1, which was the relatively meaningless PP goal that was moderately interesting. So, 4-0 in real goals. You arent gunna win every game and every minute, but jumbo was atrocious, pavs was weak, burns was ineffective. Patty had a reasonabloe game aside from the half-assed backcheck early and cooch was good in possession, but did not get the job done.
I reallllllly hope that the sharks "top" players show up in game 5 and lead the way. The team needs to stop relying on guys like nieto, shep, hertl, torres and the like and start getting jumbo, burns, cooch, patty, and pavs to dominate a game.

Is it not possible the kings just played better overall? And did you really expect a sweep?
its not that I expected a sweep. I actually thought they had a great first half of the game and just got beat in a 10 minute period in the last 6 minutes of the 2nd and the first 4 mins of the 3rd.
However, this whole series aside from game 1, the sharks big names have been disappointing. Game 2 ended a blowout but the first 3 goals did not feature any of the big 5. last game was the heriocs of hertl and nieto that gave the sharks a chance, and while patty had the big GWG, it was the depth that allowed them to make it there because the big 5 were poor in regulation. Then tonight the big 5 was again outplayed by LA.
The sharks are not down 3-1 because of the bottom 6. Game 2 is a L if not for brown, torres, and braun. The sharks were down 2-0 and quick was lookin unbeatable. Game 3 is an L if not for hertl and nieto. Today is an L. The only game that the sharks top 6 has been the key to winnin was game 1.
To me, that's not gunna cut it. Their depth has gotten them where they are, but they need a much better execution from the big money guys (patty possibly the exception).
I expect game 5 to be a good one... Ill be there so a handshake would be lovely
On a total side note...
How fucking rediculous was nieto's little flip shot off martinez? Is that guy a rook? That's crazzzyyyy....
Watching hertl and nieto dominate at 20 and 21 years old respectively is amazingly fun. Both of them look to me to have potential top line skill and speed. I culd see nieto be a 30 goals scorer as early as next year and hertl could be a dominant force top liner with major allstar potential.
Before the year started, I remember thinking that the sharks farm was so shallow and that Hertl *may* make the team. Whats happened is 2 top 6 forwards paid next to nothing, signed for free for two more years. If dougie plays his cards right, he's build an incredible core all of the sudden.
I wonder what mueller can do?
as proof the sharks have outscored LA 20-14, but jumbo is -2, and burnsie is -1 in the series. That can't continue. The sharks top players will have to outplay the opponents top players for the sharks to go far...
God forbid you give the kings any credit for playing a good game, sharks scored 3 in playoff hockey thats usually a win, the kings got 3 bounces go their way its playoff hockey
Credit not necessary, its painfully obvious to even the casual observer that they kicked our ass from the beginning of the game. I would wager that 65-70% of that game was played in our zone... but that was to be expected. I was more interested in what we would do about it.
