This game is so important, again. Every single team we play in October minus only NJ made the playoffs last season and we just got beat by them on our home ice. This losing streak needs to be ended NOW before it snowballs into something serious.

I think the positive is that they're putting the puck in the net unlike early on last season - just need to tighten things up defensively - first goal of the game would be so nice

I like the Flyers winning this game. I see a low scoring 3-1 win for the Flyers. I think our defense will show up, or I should only hope.

I do think we outplayed NJ, but got several bad breaks. I'm surprised that we weren't able to ride the wave of momentum from the final five minutes of the second period on through to a win. It's all about keeping the pressure on offensively as often as possible to spend fewer minutes back defending in our own zone.

I feel like we have a top five offense in this league at the end of the day, so we need to utilize it. Last season we were tied for 9th, but if we can avoid the long slump this season, we will score more goals and get into the top five.

It's already clear that the offense can be deadly with three goals in 4 minutes and 15 seconds against the Devils.

I also expect guys like Raffl, Couturier, Schenn, Read and Voracek to score more goals than last season. And to a lesser extent, Akeson and Bellemare should score more often than the players they are replacing (Hall & Rosehill). Plus, I think you can plug either of them into a scoring line when we have an injury or just to shake things up.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Simmonds finally crack the 30 goal mark either. He is way overdue and well on his way.

The 5 on 5 game must improve. Defensively, and offensively.

Statistically, Schenn, MDZ, Giroux, Voracek and Raffl are getting killed at even strength. Otherwise, it's not bad. But yes, the whole team needs to improve in this area based, if anything, off of last season alone.

It really comes down to the first 5 minutes of each period and the last 2 minutes of each period.
The Flyers HAVE to improve the start to games and periods. They simply can not expect to win or even compete starting games the way they have in the first two, and many games last season. They have to keep focus during the last 2 minutes of periods is also a key...not letting up and not loosening up on defense.

I think this COULD be a good 3-1 win with an empty net goal. It could also be 4 or 5 for both teams.

Drop the puck and lets see some hockey!!!

Nice 5 on 3 penalty kill for having too many on the ice. Still 2 zip. Nice.
