Don't be a jabroni.
It's game day, 730pm on FDS. Ms Puck Junior II is visiting from AZ and staying with me for a few days, always happy when she does. Can't believe she will be 20 in 6 months.
Little tired from all the windshield time today, spent the day visiting a partner and presenting at his office in Woodland Hills, beought in lunch from a mom and pop called Dan's Super Subs off Ventura/Shoup. Excellent and was a big hit, I love supporting mom and pops if I can help it. Owner was nice but talked too much though for my taste, I'm sure you guys can imagine the look on my face as I sat there waiting for my catering order.
That was a freaking haul and a half sitting in 2.5 hours to get there and 3 hours of traffic to get back home, mileage wise it's only 65 miles or so. No idea how some of you drive so much, I hate going to the gas station sometimes let alone through LA. If my daughter wasn't here tonight I would have just hung around there and gone to the Kings or Doyers game tonight.
Nothing new to report, expect the same lineup as Sunday against SJ. Kuemper the expected starter, Jeannot and Turcotte still not skating. I think Glass Boy got a concussion again and Jeannot it's a groin or ankle. Laferriere is a game time decision but Jill is hopeful he is able to go after missing the last game due to illness. Even if Laferriere is out, I think it's safe to assume Thomas will not play - his days are numbered in Los Angeles. Nick Nickson will also be honored tonight so it may be a delayed start.
A bunch of ex Kings coming to town tonight in Iafallo, Kupari, Vilardi and JAD who was recalled. But The Legend is out with a UBI, Kupari is out day to day and Name Plate (thinking Letters is a better nickname) was a healthy scratch last game. Iafallo moves back to the top line for the Jets taking The Legend's spot. I'm pretty sure we will see Hellebuyck, who is a lock for the Vezina IMO. The issue is he can't replicate his RS success in the POs but trophy voting is RS performance only.
The Jets have won three in a row and are the best road team in the NHL with 23 wins. The Kings have the most home wins with 24 so it's best on best tonight. The Kings have won the first two games of this season's series with this the last game between the three. I'm sure Winnipeg doesn't want to get swept so I expect a fight and for them to come out flying.
To boot they have the best PP in the NHL and are the number one defensive team in the league. The Kings are second but don't have the guns, this last little 6/7 game outburst stretch notwithstanding. The Kings have to "check for chances" as Fox likes to say.
The Kings are playing well, but my gut says Jets 3-2. Kings goals by Kempe who is heating up and Kuzmenko who gets his first goal in a non blowout game. Buster with 5 assists registered for both teams. He's arrived.
Let's Go Kings!
