Don't be a jabroni.
Game day, G3 of the series in Edmonton. 7pm start time on FDS SoCal and TNT for the national broadcast. I'll probably miss this one and catch the replay after we get home about 930, Junior II has a flag game 8-9pm but has a 7-8pm warmup so we will leave about 630pm.
Also had oral surgery today with a tooth extraction and bone graft put in so I'm not feeling overly great yet either. Should be fine by G4 because I'm grilling steaks and lobster Sunday and I ain't missing that pain or not.
Kings ran 11/7 last game, I'm expecting the traditional 12/6 being on the road and not putting extra minutes on guys, especially the older ones like Kopitar and Doughty. Kuemper first off the ice today so he's the expected starter. After a nervy G1 he really calmed down in G2, I expect him to continue to in the POs until he has a bad stretch or something. Lewis, Thomas, Moverare and Burroughs available to check in.
The Edmonton front, Pickard is going in for Skinner. Skinner hasn't had help but he also hasn't made the saves he needs to. Seems every year this guy is pulled mid series, goaltending has been an issue for them for some time. I do not believe they will ever win a Cup with that guy as the starter. Pickard is also an average back up goalie so I'm not expecting him to goalie the Kings. Just keep doing what you've been doing and I think they'll get some past him.
The biggest issue tonight is line changes and matchups, Oilers will get the last change. They'll see who LA has out there and counter accordingly. So far the Dunno line has matched up the most against McJesus and and Draisaitl in G1 and G2, not expecting that to change. Just a matter of getting them out there as quickly as possible since the Kings have last change.
Oilers will be home, fans will be loud and raucous, they'll get the fan boost like LA does when they're at home. Not going to be easy especially for a team who isn't that good on the road.
I said I feel LA will split G3 and G4 and I think tonight they lose 4-3. Edmonton will win on adrenaline but that'll wear off for G4. If the Kings win one of these two games and come back to LA 3-1, series is over. But the Kings still have two more to win. Kings goals by Kempe, Moore, Laferriere getting this over amped Edmonton game out of the way and then winning G4 headed back to LA. One game at a time.
