A true #1 receiver would help also. We have a team of #2's

I'm sure every division opponent is hoping we let him walk. The team is in the genesis of a great offensive unit but yeah let's throw away one of the major ingredients a quarter of the way thru the process.

Actually what you have is a less depressing version of... The Browns. Now we arent that bad yet..... But its 2017 and we are the Redskins...

Tomorrow should be interesting.

Joe Barry has got to go. If Dallas can have a good defense with no names we should too

I think it will now that we lost. If we'd have won maybe not

Fine.. admittedly IM in a grouchy mood. But I will believe Joe Barry gets fired when its reported he was fired. I just think there are entirely too many excuses for Barry at present.

I've watched some bad football over the years. This team is headed in the right direction. IMO

I love how we often view our football fortune with respect to our QB as an either or proposition with keeping him at some cost being one choice and going back to the bad ole' days as the other. Really, guys? Really? There's absolutely no scenario in which you all can envision keeping him with and eye towards getting better at the position? Well, at least that explains the drafting of the great Nate Sudfield and having Colt McCoy as a backup.

I can understand McCoy he was already here, but, if I'm not mistaken, Sudfield was supposed to have been the best player available at the time he was drafted. My question still stands, best player available to do exactly what? Here's an idea, how about drafting fewer long term projects in favor of men who come in with skillsets that at minimum replace our backups.

Chasing the elite QB is 90% of the reason why we have been starting backups and worse at other key positions.

Under what circumstance is it chasing an elite QB, when all you need to do is get guys who are better than what you already have. NOT elite, just better! Hell the biggest part of our problems is in not drafting better (See Nate Sudfield)

When you trade multiple picks, or use multiple picks on the position over the last 10 years... thats chasing.

And i find it rather odd that you are calling for max competition at the position now, where as a few seasons back, the idea of a QB competition was the furthers thing from your mind.

There was no QB competition a few years ago, remember? What was on my mind and we vigorously argued the point was the way things were mis-handled IMO, remember that? Interesting that the guy who sat and learned for long stretches turned out better than the one who was unprepared and thrown in right away!

You guys are giving the coaching staff a HUGE pass, Gruden couldnt get more than 10 points in a game that potentially put his future in jeopardy? Gruden couldnt get his team motivated to beat the panthers?
Are our only run plays inside zone and hb toss only when Thompson comes in? Way too tired to go into
The horrible play calling and lack of simplification. Barry should be fired solely based on starting Whitner.
Cousins has done a great job considering there is an undrafted rookie that is the starting rb. He almost looks like someone ready to leave. The skins don't and never wanted him as the franchise. He's too average and emotionless and they don't wanna give him money... despite the FACT that they have plenty cap space

I'm struggling to blame gruden for the 10 points when his quarterback played that poorly. It could be argued he hasn't had this team properly prepared for some big games this year but overall he's taken over a shitty situation and gotten 2 winning seasons. Certainly not undeserving of criticism but he shouldn't be going anywhere.

Specifically to the motivational piece which is a good point, however, : "You can't do epic shit with basic people."__Desean Jackson kind of sums up the motivational deficiencies.

I'd be willing to speculate that Gruden has discouraged Kirk from scrambling. Kirk has always had
Good pocket awareness, but several games this year he has just stayed in the pocket when daylight was in front of him. He's gone back to bonehead moves he curbed a year ago. A lot of play calling has required the WRs to run routes that take a lot of time. It's so odd to watch an offensive genius not be able to adapt, also the defense actually put us in position to win but.....the play calls sucked and Kirk was not able to execute. Last time we beat the giants, it's was the defense and s/t .....the offense hasn't been much better than the defense IMO

I agree kirk should scramble more and must generally buy more time in the pocket but I don't think that's grudens fault necessarily. And I'm not sure about the long developing route thing. We get the ball out quickly. Too quickly a lot of the time I would argue.
