Specifically to the motivational piece which is a good point, however, : "You can't do epic shit with basic people."__Desean Jackson kind of sums up the motivational deficiencies.

I agree with some of your previous post about our draft blunders and I'm worried history will repeat itself soon.
My new thought of the night is we overachieved this season. maybe our coaches could make vast improvements in scheme this year

I knew this thread would be here when I woke up. LMAO. So now Watson in the middle of round 1 is the answer when the majority of teams in the NFL have failed when trying to find a QB via the draft for decades? Child please. Go look up the history of the hit rate of QBs taken mid-first and later. Then shut the fuck up.

Kirk Cousins is pretty much exactly what I have been saying he is for over a year now. He's good. Damn good. The numbers don't lie, he is top ten. But as I have been pointing out for a year he tends to wilt under the brightest lights and I have always questioned if he is really a QB who can carry a team deep into the playoffs regulary by himself without a run game or is he Andy Daulton? I think this is a fair assessment and legit questions.

But he's the best we've had in 30 years and if you think finding someone better at pick 20 has a good chance of working you are a damned fool.

I stand by my opinion that he's a younger version of Ryan Fitzpatrick. He can manage the game but he will never carry a team on his shoulders. But Darrell Green Fan is right as we won't have a better option for next season. So basically we are f*****.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is a bit harsh. Kirk has played much better than that guy and he is still developing. The only bright spot from yesterday is it may lower his price tag just a bit.

DGF, we finally agree. KC is a very good QB, but there is no doubt that he has not done well in the big games. Is this something he can grow out of? Unknown at this time. But we have seen him grow out of other issues he has had earlier in his career. That INT to end the game was just a bad play on his part. No other way to describe it. He should have thrown the ball away. But he also made some great throws in that game. Throws that no other QB that might be available to us (with exception of romo but I won't go there) can make. So basically, KC is our best option for the next couple of years. But he needs support. He is not ready now, and maybe never will be, to be a QB to carry the team by himself. We need a running game to keep defenses honest. And we have got to be able to stop the other team's offense.

Yeah we've seen Kirk the same way for a year or so now. That's because our assessment looks pretty obvious to me. Why he won't pull the ball down and run more often has always frustrated me, it was the play to be made on that pick. Glad to see him admit it in the presser, maybe he will start to do it more often.

well we have cutler , taylor the 37 yr old romo mccoy sudfeld and hey we can get a hoyer in here . of course we can gut a few more drafts to get the top qb again and put the defense on hold another couple of years

or we can be patient , let KC grow going into year 3 as the starter , build up the defense so it isnt a laughing stock and lo and behold if the offense aint clicking by god they could actually carry the team for a game

when i ask for options i get crickets

KC put us in position to win detroit , he put us in position to beat cincy but other areas of the team failed us

i say pay the guy , get this albatross off our backs and continue to build the team

Chill dude. I don't really know what to do but telling people to stfu because they think taking a qb in the first is a valid move is a bit much. It's not like it hasn't worked.

Shcerff got destroyed tonight and game up a huge sack. At the end of the game any QB worth a damn should be able to drive a team down the field to get a game tieing FG with the season on the line.

Are you done with Scherff too? If we cut him, we take a $6.7M cap hit, but we've got the cap space to handle that.

You also have to imagine how much a long-term deal will settle Kirk's mind during the season. Every game -- hell, every pass -- was a continuing referendum on his worth this year.
