Another short DB. His upside is his versatility. Been a WR and RB. Also a returner. Just has average speed with a 4.49 40. Nothing jumps off the page on him. Hopefully, he replaces Logan:hope:

He led the nation with 4 punt returns for TD's.

The Patriots have traded the fifth-round pick (147) they acquired from the Dolphins and a 2016 seventh-rounder to Seattle (243). In exchange, they get a 2017 fourth-round pick to replace the selection stripped by the NFL for Deflategate and a 2016 seventh-rounder (225).

WTF? Man I hate the draft. Makes you want to slap the snot out of BB.

Every year people feel the same way. Then comes OTAs, Mini camps and training camp. All of a sudden BB's shitbag picks like Malcolm Butler, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski et al become the life blood of the Patriots.

Belichick has traded all of the non-compensatory picks in Round 6 to get a replacement 4th Round pick next year.

Chandler Jones trade has returned Cooper, Cyrus Jones and Joe Tuney.........it remains to be seen if the trade actually pays a dividend.

Oh he's a gamer. 4 returns for TD in 2015 I think I read? But basically a 4.5 40 isn't anything over the top. Just average especially on the DB side where he gives up height. Sorry wasn't a huge fan of tge pick. I like him as a returner but not sure he'll even replace Logan? I really really hope I'm wrong there.

I read a pre draft report from PFF saying he was that reporters sleeper:hope:
But NE has a lot of WRs. He's going to have to get into the facility, work his ass off, learn the play book and get TB to believe in him.
This is one pick I liked, lol

This was definitely a very typical Belichick draft. He took guys that leave you saying "Who?" He just seems to value players much differently than anybody else in the draft. We had guys on the Broncos board hoping that the Patriots wouldn't pick certain players that we really liked and I joked that we didn't have to worry because the Patriots always seem to pick beyond the popular names in the draft.

Belichick always rows his boat against the current in every draft.

Please, please give me a draft year that he drafted anyone that you or I had ever heard of before the draft.

Yet, since 2000 he has somehow integrated a bus load of unknown football players in to the most hated team of consistent winners in the history of professional sports. He has taken players in the draft that every team had ignored or backed away from and has turned them in the most dominant team in the 21st Century.

About 5 years ago I did some work at Gillette Stadium. I went into several areas and several offices. I was allowed into Nick Casario's office (Dir. of Pro Personnel). His office is approx. 30'x20'. Both side walls are white boards and this is where all future Patriots begin their career with the Pats. The critical board is the Draft Board.
50 spaces, 50 names. As the draft goes on, the board is stripped of player taken. The board is marked and if all of the players have been selected when the Patriots pick comes in each round, and the there are no players above the mark, BB trades out. The remaining players do not have enough value to be selected above the mark. No player that is remaining available in the world has enough value to be selected above the mark.

For the most part........Belichick has been correct.

Meh on the draft.....I love the Jones pick. Slot CB, which means Chung does not have to come up, who can replace Ryan next yr. We also have the other CB's, esp Roberts who can take that other CB spot this yr. I like the depth we have. Going to see some battles out there. Also LeBlanc, watch out....he will make this team.

Love the WR Mitchell too. Great talent who will fight for the ball. This maybe the end of Dobson this yr. The battle in camp should be good.

We needed a QB, so.....ya it sucks where he was drafted but chances are he is not going to see the field.

As for the rest of the guys, they create some battles. I think a LOUD message was sent to Mason, Jackson, Kline and others that they are not safe in camp. Look at the OG they brought in. Going to be some serious competition on the interior OL. Scar got the guys he wanted. LB depth will be another battle to watch.

I think BB traded into the 5th to grab one of the RB that remained, and when they were picked, he gladly traded back out. Balt got him twice with RB and the kid from Navy. Overall they hit the needs they had, minus RB. I also think this means that they plan on signing some of these FA which is good news. If they were concerned that HT and Collins were going to walk, they would have grabbed a LB, there were some good ones on the board in RD2
