Only good thing is he will be back for a run through the playoffs.

If BB wants to sign a free agent to take up the slack, there is always Pot Roast. He recently had a tryout with the Redskins and, according to the story I read, he was in pretty good shape. He is about the same size as Branch and already knows the Pats' system from training camp.

Rules are the rules but it still sucks. Like they could absorb another loss to the defense.
Disappointing

He's appealing. He could counter sue and win. Grass is legal in MA.

Big problem for the NFL. 21 states have legalized medical marijuana. 13 states have legalized recreational marijuana. If marijuana is illegal, then why isn't alcohol? The NFL has to review it's definition of illegal drugs.

Yup, he can appeal it and delay the suspension until the playoffs.

That's smart...

It may be legal in 13 states, but it is still against NFL rules.

And against federal law, which takes precedence.

I don't see TK back, It's Hamilton's job now while Branch is suspended. I look for them to add another body though.

Maybe the pork chop is hungry after being out of football? I'd say if he is in decent shape he's likely as good an option as anyone else they could bring in? If he's hungry he may surprise?

He can counter sue for sure but even in the states it truly is legal NFL the business can still make decisions on what is allowed by their workers. Such as for me I drove school bus while in college. Legally as long as I was under a .08 I was within legal standards to be driving. The school district I worked for obviously they had a no tolerance policy. You blew any number and you were fired on the spot. There wasn't even a suspension or a 3-strike rule it was you turned in your badge that moment and went home. Plenty of businesses have these types of standards. Just because it is legal by the state law doesn't mean a company has to abide by those same rules. As long as it has been made clear to the employees what they are signing up for then the only person they have to blame is themselves because they signed a contract stating they would abide by those rules.

And as another poster said just because some states are passing some laws saying it is legal in their states doesn't mean the federal government has actually recognized it as legal. I was good friends with an ex-pot grower when I lived in Washington and he said that even after it was legalized in the state most of his friends that were growing still preferred to stay under the radar as they did not want to let the government know they were growing and have the FEDERAL government show up one day and throw them in prison for breaking federal laws. That could happen.

Too bad there's not a test to determine if someone's currently high like there is for alcohol.

I mean other than putting on Pink Floyd and waving potato chips under their nose.

Branch's suspension rescinded prior to hearing the appeal. NFL WTF are you doing. Is this another case of not having proof?
Good for NE, more black eyes for Roger and the boys.
