Who are you excited to see play from this class that we just signed?

Here are my Top 3 guys:

1: WR Justin Brent- He is 6'3 190 LBS. I think This kid has a good chance to get some playing time. First off he is an EE. So he will learn the offense over the spring and summer. This kid looks like a a Beast. I cant wait to see what he brings to the table. He is a 4 star and ranked #8 at his position. Here is some videos.

2: Andrew Trumbetti: He is 6'5 250LBS. We have another EE here. He will have enough time to learn the Defense. This kid is explosive on the Defensive side of the ball. I think he will get some playing time early on. Wouldn't shock me if he won a starting spot. Here is some video of him. Kid is going to be good. He is a 4 star DE/OLB. He is ranked #5 at his position.

3. Nyles Morgan: He is 6'1 225LBS. This kid has a chance to be special at ND. He is an animal. I think he will see the field this year but don't expect much until later in the season. He isn't an EE so it will take him some time. I think he will be a starter by next year. He might even become a starter by Mid season because our Depth at MLB isn't great. I think he can become close to Te'o special. Very athletic. He is a 4 star MLB and ranked #3 at his position.

WR Brent is already at 205LBS with very low Body Fat. Kid is going to be a Beast. They are comparing him to M. Floyd. Right now 6'3 205LBS.

Floyd was 225 as a Sr. Freshmen he is was 6'3 195LBS.

Here is what some expectations are on some of commits we got. Nice piece from Blueandgold.com. I cant copy and paste but I will give a breakdown of what they think.

All American Predictions:
Quinton Nelson- They feel he is one of the top OL in this class and a LT that should make some noise. They expect star status from him.

Alex Bars: They feel the same about him and think he might end up being better then Nelson. They feel this is the best Oline in a very long time to come to ND and by Jr year will have the best Oline in the nation. Great job by the coaching Staff. With these 2 guys ND will have the best Tackles in the country by the end of their Careers. Only problem they have no Idea who will play LT and RT. Good problem to have. Feel Both have 1st rd potential and may end up as a Top 10 pick.

Other 1st RD pick Potential:

Nick Watkins: ND finally found a shut down CB. They feel at the end of this he will end up as a 1st rd pick. IF ND landed JuJu ND would be in great shape in the secondary with him, JuJu and Max. Either way ND found their star at CB. They say he is polish and ready to play. They expect him to be one of the nations top CB in college.

Outperform Ranking:

Kolin Hill- He was a back up plan for ND but once film was out on him teams started to offer. Ranking was low because he didn't have film out on him. They say he is great at the attack of the play. He goes after it. He has the speed and power to be a very good pass rusher. Look for him to get better every year.

Nile Sykes: Only played 1 year at LB. He was a DE so there wasn't a lot of film out there as him be a LB. He has a big frame and can play in space. Has ton of upside. Look for him to be our sleeper pick. Wont make much noise at 1st but watch out for his Jr or Sr year.

Media Favorite:

Jay Hayes: Kelly said he was the best recruiter form the 2014 class. Hayes tells it how it is. He loves ND and cant wait to play. If he has a bad game he will tell u straight that he sucked. Media will love this guy.

Deshone Kizer: He carries himself well and has that leadership quality. He will be a great face for ND football.

Game One Action:

Nyles Morgan: Coaches and writers expect to see him game 1 against Rice. This kid is going to be a star at ND. He is one of the nations best prospects at his positions and overall. Fans will love watching him play. This might be hard to do but he might take over what Te'o did. Play ability he has the potential to be better then Te'o. Leadership ability of Te'o is hard to match but u never know. He was in NDs top 3 on the Defensive side of the ball of all players. ND coaches love this kid.

Andrew Trumbetti- By being an EE this gives him a great shot to crack the 2 deep. some people think he is the best player overall in NDs class. He already has the size and athleticism to make an impact from Day 1.

Sleeper Picks:
Grant Blankenship- Some think he is right below Trumbetti. Has a lot of upside and has an outside shot to play right away.

Justin Brent- ND is packed at the WR position but its going to be tough to not play this kid. He already has the size and skills to play right away. Also being a EE will help. At first he didn't have the speed to be a star but would be a great red zone and move the chains top of receiver but that changed when he worked really hard and got his 40 down to 4.52. That is great speed for a WR his size. Expect Big things from him. Also playing RB his SR year will help him take hits and break tackles. He isn't afraid of getting hit now because of playing RB. From playing RB he is the one now giving the hit when he has the ball in his hands.

To me I think Brent is going to be a Star WR, the best since Floyd and maybe better than Floyd.

Look I am sure he's talented and coaches are raving about his size but Floyd was easily the top two receivers in his class, broke numerous records at ND and was a first round pick. To say he may surpass Floyd seems awfully premature.

The kid is 18 and looks like a 5th year senior physically. I said I think he could be better, but at least the best since Floyd. Also he didn't have a ton of tape out and he committed so early to Notre Dame that his recruiting never took off, basically coaches learned quick that it was a waste of time so he didn't get the bumps that he would have if every SEC had offered him.

I agree, I don't think any one is saying he will be better but he has the potential to be better.

He's certainly one of the more physically ready players coming in of anyone in recent memory, next to Te'o, and they have two in this class in Morgan as well, potentially three in Trumbetti.

This class has some kids that will make some noise. This was a great depth class with a little bit of some bang. We did get the high star #1 ranked kind of player but I think we got some good ones in this class. We got the best Oline class int he country. That is a positive. We have 2 tackles that can play LT.
