I need to see two different people in the final. The two dinosaurs need to lose.

Nadal ties Fed Sunday? Or will it be 20,19,18?

Hope Rafa kicks Nole’s butt in straight sets. He should given his past history at the French and the fact that Nole had a five setter and is not that young anymore.

I'm not sure what makes Swiatek have these dominating set scores.

Congrats to her.

It was cool to see Kenin hit drop shot return winners, in the SFs and Finals. I can't remember if I've seen a player do that before, or I don't remember the last time I saw that.

Rooting for Nadal. I don't care about the major count tally. People have already made up their minds about FED, Nadal, Djokovic at this point, and a major here or there isn't going to change much.

Was right about the straight sets defeat. I think this loss is a tough pill to swallow for Djoker because he has grown a ginormous ego and even tougher for his fans. Oh well, he can get back to the drawing board and figure out how he will erase the “always second best to Nadal” status. Nadal is the GOAT at the moment.

4 times now.

I'm surprised he didn't straight set one of his US Open wins before.

These top athletes are good at having short term memory. They can move past these defeats.

It’s hard sometimes. Goran had Pete as his kryptonite in some Wimby finals ( almost demolished him mentally), Roddick had that Wimbledon final, Nadal had Djokovic demolish him at AO final and Fed of course had Numerous FO losses. Out of the three I would say Fed handles the losses better and is a better sportsman.

Also Fed had that USO loss vs DelPo in 2007 I think. And last years Wimby final that he should have won vs Arrobitch. Fed had at least three very good opportunities to make it to 21.

I'd also add the 2011 FO. He had a 5-2 lead against Nadal in the first set.

If he wins that set, then either he wins the match in 4, wins in 5, or loses in 5.

The 2014 Wimbledon was also close.

He also shouldn't have lost to Dmitrov at the 2019 US Open.

A bigger problem with FED is that he's lost 22 matches while having match point:

Here's when he's saved match point and won:

The one versus Djokovic at Wimby finals was the absolute worst because he had matchpoints on his serve.

Well, I'm sure he had match points on his serve, in about 1/2 of the other 22 matches he also lost.

I'd say losing to Del Potro in 2017 was worse than losing in 2009. At least 2009 was close.

In 2017, FED had a great year in many tournaments prior to the US Open. It was disappointing to see him overpowered like that at the US Open.
