Had Jeter played his entire career with the Rangers and Michael Young played his entire career with the Yankees what would be the difference in how their careers are viewed?

Young was never an elite defender, Jeter was once upon a time. Young nowhere near 3k hits, Jeter did it in grand fashion. I would say there would be a lot of lobbying to get Young in, but unless he played a key role in some of the WS they won he's probably left out.

If Jeter plays for the rangers he's still a HOF'er, but with far less media fare.

But when you look at what he accomplished - under the biggest spotlight on the baseball planet - and compare his numbers to other SS, much less players.....he's been truly terrific.

It's not like I hate him. Don't. I'm just totally fatigued with the NY driven media carping about him.

He's up for arbitration now. And he made about $500K. Why not make him an offer?

I feel somewhat honored to have spent time watching this warrior at work.

I'm not one to put athletes on pedestals.
