unfortunately Dumervil won't want to come to the Niners. He'll want to start somewhere, play a year and do free agency properly. I'm just thankful that Seattle already signed Avril.

makes sense for the 49ers, but not for vet players. they seek guarantees before signing, avoid incentives.

I wanted him in FA last year to replace Gore down the road. I'm good with this, though, since they probably wouldn't show interest this year in him anyway. I want Lacy way more than anybody now though. It's also good they picked the option up because I wouldn't want Tolbert on a contender more importantly than anything else either.
