The $10,000 fine is excessive but I do agree that everyone knows the policy so just follow it.

Most jobs have a dress code of some kind that employee's are expected to follow.

It's ironic that Merton Hanks is the one handing out uniform violation fines. I wonder what he would have said about them if was still playing. Maybe he should retroactively fine himself for doing the chicken dance.

Gore could argue that his socks were at the right length when the game started but it got lower and lower as the game progressed because the Falcons could only touch his legs as he ran passed them over and over again

The NFL should retroactively PAY him for doing the chicken dance because it's the greatest celebration in the history of sports!

...and the chicken dance doesn't break any rules.

I know. Growing up, I did like the dance. I'm just a tad irritated that it's a former niner dishing out these fines.

No, but when the league is more worried about socks than the fact that Tom Brady tried to slide tackle Ed Reed, when Goodell's whole campaign has been player safety?

I've also noticed that guys on the 49ers are cutting their pants off way above the knee. I wonder if they get fined as well

Maybe the socks were just easier to figure out than Brady's intent, so they got to it first?

It's Tom Brady

He'll never get fined and in fact the NFL might send him money as an apology for the refs not blowing the whistle earlier and forcing him to slide

Really??? The announcers always called it the Chicken Dance.

I know the actuall chicken dance is the one where you make beaks out of your hands, then flap your elbows, then shake your tailfeathers then clap 4 times.

Needless to say, Metron's was WAY cooler.

Brady was just fined $10,000 for that slide. What a fucking joke. Gore gets fined $500 more for a fucking sock violation....... Why doesn't the NFL just come out and say they suck Brady's dick?

I'm just guessing, but I'm pretty sure he just wore the wrong socks. They couldn't fine someone for their socks falling down a bit.

...And for everyone killing Goodell, who's actually running a multi-billion dollar business based on TV viewers, if Gore doesn't want to get fined he should wear the right stuff! It's in his friggn' contract.

We get that, but then you look at the Brady fine and it makes no fucking sense

First of all, I think we should be happy he even got fined at all. Second of all, you're comparing apples & oranges. Violations like Brady's are extremely subjective. One can argue he didn't do anything wrong, and one can say he was trying to kick a dude in the balls. It's a jugement call. That's why the fine ammounts can get so weird.

Uniform violations are (no pun intended) uniform. This much for this violation the first time, this much for the 2nd time, etc.

I'm so sick of people harping on those who enforce the friggn' rules when the person who violated the rule knew about it beforehand.
