I'm actually working on a formula to see who's the better poster, and who deserves to be in Sports SportsHoopla HOF. Much like how home runs aren't everything in baseball, I figured out that likes are not everything in postings. It comes down to a mixture of likes, funny's, winner's, I love you man's, and, most importantly, chill's to determine whose the best. Here's the weights assigned to wOBA:I just got my trophy. I guess I should say something. Here goes,
Three and a half years ago, I came here .... (fighting back tears).....with below average typing and commenting skills....and a dream to become one of those jerkoffs that posts random shit on a message board!
Similarly, my statistic, wBPE (weighted best poster ever) assigns the following weights:
Likes = 0.72
Funny's = 0.90
Winner's = 1.24
I Love You Man's = 1.56
Chills = 396.05
I upped the importance of being able to chill, because everyone knows how important it is for one's posts to be "chill." Now for my calculations in R:
Sorry Ced, that numbers don't lie. My wBPE sits at .441 (closest MLB wOBA is Joe DiMaggio, at .439), while your wBPE is closer to Ken Williams (.420), that guy for the Browns no one cares about. I think we'll both get into the Hall, but I'm clearly the better poster.
