If that's not an act of war, it's darn close. After all, as the British Empire well established...

So, Mr Ice T, people have been screaming for years for some sign that the powers that be hear the complaints and have asked for them to acknowledge it and show solidarity. And these guys make an effort do just that and it's not enough?

Fuck you, you retarded piece of shit. Fuckwits like you aren't interested in progress. you're just interested in finding shit to be outraged about. YOU'RE NOT HELPING

Honestly, I'm with him. It makes us feel good to see, but until there's actual, systemic, actionable change, the gesture is empty. Optics. PR. And it's worth criticizing how long it took them to even do this much, besides.

That other picture, with the "End Police Brutality" sign. That department, on the same day that was taken, maced peaceful protesters.

It's empty until the structural change happens, and open skepticism and criticism are warranted.

I agree he isn’t interested in progress, but from his view point he is pissed because of the why now? Why not then.

So around curfew time in Columbus, a group of peaceful protestors was somewhat isolated around the state house. Police were blocking all their routes out of the downtown core. As they were livestreaming what they expected to be their own beat downs a group of police came up and escorted them out of the area. Walking arm and arm and one said "There's no dichotomy between pro police and pro black. You can be both. And I'm both".

All it took was some communication. Those protestors made it home safe. And their message made it home safe too.

Because some people take a while to learn. Because some people get bad info. Because some times it takes a shocking event for people to see what's been there the whole time.

Kind of like that guy in field of dreams who suddenly realized the ball players were there.

The important thing is being glad they got there. Even if it took a while. Obviously it would be better if more got it sooner, but they are trying. That should be encouraged.

idk how anyone can say the guy isn't interested in progress. The point is as you echo, when a guy like kaepernick took a knee to solemnly protest the treatment of blacks he was chastised and lost his career over it. He was acting peacefully and took shit over it from idiots Now the police want to co-opt that ... id be saying fuck that too ... they are the people of authority and power ... do something long lasting that is more than just symbolic and help improve the lives of black people

Once again totally agree, hence why I agree with your sentiment about Ice T. He won't learn but I don't blame him or others for being upset.
On that topic here is a good example of communications and learning vs not:

Great point and like stated I fully understand why he is upset as we both echo'ed.
Time will tell if he is willing to accept this as a first step. Once again all "first steps" in the past have been empty so it will be interesting to see what/if anything happens.

i find it very patronizing in fact to point out and say to the effect of how dare he not accept this gesture as a first step towards some sort of improvement in the treatment of blacks. Its like this is our apology, you (boy) must take it and like it lol

He has lived an entire life in his own skin and gone through a whole hell of a lot of death and pain to get to where he is so the way he feels is the way he feels but to just say he doesnt want progress is tone deaf
