By the way, how stupid of an argument is this even if the convention was live? That live event that requires security is a sensible environment to require an ID. A liquor store to prevent minors from buying alcohol requires an ID. It's sensible given the circumstances, but most importantly, not having an ID in these situations does not prevent you from exercising a fundamental right.

O’Toole’s the first Conservative leader to represent an Ontario riding since the 1930’s. They haven’t seated a PM representing Ontario since the 1800’s. There hasn’t been a PM representing an Ontario riding from any party since Lester Pearson.

38% of Canadians live in Ontario and 36% of the seats in Parliament are there. It’s where they need to pull seats from Junior to take back the government. Given how bad everyone running seemed to be this was probably their best chance at winning.
