Possibly but I thought it was 4 games no matter if it was his first or not.
That was the old policy. I don't know the details of the new one.

I just recently learned that these suspensions and fines are not used in the equation for voting on HOF...
It's about the athletes performance in the game....So no, it won't effect Brady's induction either...
The article was about Warren Sapp being a first ballot inductee, with his troubles off field...
Well then both sides need to stop preaching the integrity of the game/unfair advantage...Hypocrits.Didn't we just have a few posts about how the NFLPA is spending millions in legal fees to fight for these players for unfair suspensions? I would say if they went to a 1-year suspension the only way that works is if both the NFLPA and the NFL agree to it and since that would mean some major loss of wages I just can't see the NFLPA going for that.

What article?
Oh, that article.....LOLI exiled it into oblivion Southie, so no Pats fans could ever find it again....
I don't remember if I read it or watched it on Tv now, too lazy to to go hunting for it but I do remember that part clearly because I thought, Well Suggs was right, this suspension will have no bearing on Brady getting in the HOF 1st ballot.....Who said "cheaters never win" ?

Has Brady been found guilty of cheating yet? Spygate was on the coaching staff and deflategate isn't finalized yet?
NFL HANDS OUT SUSPENSIONS TODAY
- Chargers TE Antonio Gates: 4 games for PEDs
- Jets DT Sheldon Richardson: 4 games for substance abuse
- Cowboys LB Rolando McClain: 4 games for substance abuse
- Packers DE Datone Jones: 1 game for substance abuse
Do these guys never learn !
put down the weed until your retired and then blaze away if you want but giving up thousand or maybe millions for some mind numbing smoke is stupid IMHO
Why only one game for Jones? Didn't he inhale??
What I've reading about Datone Jones is that he was likely found is possession of something, rather than testing positive for something.
I think some of these players should be suspended for the names their parents give them these day. WTF is a Datone?
