Nope not at all. I thought we could rush the passer better then this. Especially against a non passing viking team. They kicked our defense ass

Our DL has racked up only 5 sacks this season - that's less than 2 per game. Aldon Smith could have had more sacks in the GB game but he was chasing Aaron Rodgers, and AR is, well quite frankly, AR.

That's pretty pathetic considering our division rival, Arizona, is at a whopping 12. Brooks only has 1 sack this season in that monster game against GB.

AZ always has been a better sack happy defense over the years.... they get it done in spurts but disappear for awhile...then come back.

we rush four to take advantage of Justin Smith and Ray Macdonald. both have the ability to disrupt the pass blocking. if Aldon was the only threat, then we'd send five more often.

no doubt we need more pressure, so if this keeps up i'm sure we'll start to change things. rushing five is fine but there's a cost to the coverage, so as long as we accept that too.

IF the lack of pressure with four keeps up, i'm sure Fangio will adjust accordingly? but ordinarily, don't think you'd constantly need five against this Viking offense? yesterday wasn't ordinary.

Pass Rush has been nearly invisable, this lowers turnovers, time of possession etc. This needs to improve from 50 sacks down to ? The D needs to improve this area!! Go 49ers!!

I know we need willis and bow man on coverage. But i would sure love to see those guys get some blitzing opportunities.

Well, in years past i liked the fact that we mixed it up by having more men standing as opposed to 4 men with their hand in the dirt, giving the offense a better idea as to what we are doing. I just want it to be more unpredictable. Right now it seems a little too straight forward.

I haven't seen it nearly as much this year as in past years. Maybe that was more of a Manusky thing? I'll try and re-watch the game and get back to you. We definitely weren't getting as much penetration with RJF in there.
