Looking at the Pirates, they are off to a good start. These guys are helping so far:
Connor Joe - .357/.455/.683 in 66 PAs
Andrew McCutchen - .275/.381/.507 in 84 PAs
Bryan Reynolds - .294/.319/.553 in 94 PAs
There is something that connects those players. Can’t quite put my finger on it…

I don't understand why so many teams do this now? What is the point to bring a guy up for one day and dfa him the next?
They need coverage, and they have a guy they don’t care if they lose.

An ignominious end to a legendary player. No contending club will likely take a chance on him, and he won't give a shit if he's on a non-contender.

I still suspect he's better than what he's been performing to. He always got up for the big games. But he often just mailed it in otherwise, even with us.

He will get offers, I suspect. But he may be done with the game. He can become a full time cowboy.

OMG

The only ones that make any kind of ripple, imho…

La Stella is done. Unfortunately.

Leone must be done? Kinda surprised at his nosedive.

Dodgers tried to squeeze Wynns for info, then they realized there is no logic at play with the Giants, so they tossed him to the curb.

Killian getting another cuppo with the Cubbos. I fear he will end up being good.

This is the kind of posts that happen in this thread, thanks to the churn. Almost everyone is a forever Giant now.

Being a Giants fan today is so diametrically opposite to how has always been my whole life up to this point. I thinks why I so strongly dislike this FO. I specifically verbalized years ago why I liked the giants and not the A’s; they had a family-like run org. They had strong ties to Mays, McCovey, Perry, Cepeda, Marichal, Irvin, etc, and made strong ties to “current” players like Estes, Clark, Winn, Pence, etc. I don’t get the sense that there is any love between the org and the chattel they employ today. In fact, most players who leave the org now tend to mumble shit about the org under their breathe once they are gone (or before) like Bumgarner, Rodon, Dubon, etc.

The sooner FZ is gone, the happier I will be.

Not only has Leone latched on to another team, but he has a roster spot on the big league club . . .

Carlos Rodon said he has been told his back issue is "chronic." He is tentatively scheduled to have the cortisone injection next week. Asked if a July return is realistic, he said: "I can't put a timeline on anything. I'll get this injection and I want to throw as soon as I can."
