We've all got a guy who we thought would be it...mine was Kenny Britt. Once he got over his crap with the law and his injuries...yeah, he was gonna be it, Baby! :laugh3:

Who was gonna be the Next Big Thing for your fantasy team?

Nice question, Chef. I like the way you think. Here's pretty much my entire FF history on the "next big" thing:

2002 - WR Qadry Ismail
2003 - WR Tai Streets
2004 - RB Rudi Johnson (actually got this one correct, at least for 2004)
2005 - QB Jake Delhomme (started his tail-spin in '05)
2006 - RB Kevin Jones (had over 1100 all-purpose rush/rcvg yards, but was otherwise a bust)
2007 - RB Laurence Maroney
2008 - RB Kevin Smith (probably his best season, but not great)
2009 - WR Louis Murphy
2010 - RB Shonn Greene
2011 - RB Shonn Greene (yep, I bought in 2 years in a row - fail)
2012 - RB Doug Martin (actually got this one right)
2013 - RB Lamar Miller

Dante Stallworth

Tishminga Biakabatuka
David Boston
Scott Mitchell
Roy Williams (WR)
Rickey Dudley
James Starks (twice)
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. .

After further review: In 2003, I actually had higher hopes for Peerless Price who went from the #2 in Buffalo to the #1 in Atlanta that season. So after drafting Price as my WR2 and Streets as my WR3, I pretty much destroyed any hope that year.

Awesome list, Joe; I was a big Shonn Greene guy as well. Couldn't help but hope for a little redemption from him this year.

Personally, I thought Kevin Smith's best year was 2006 with "Clerks II", but what do I know?

Darrin McInjury
David Boston (although I had him in his monster season)
Kaps (2 leagues this year)
Ryan "He's gonna touch the ball a ton" Matthews
Dion Branch
Damn near every OSU WR not named David Boston as I already named him (Glenn, Ginn and countless others).
Kevin Smith (good one Joe)
That little bastard that came out of nowhere and ran for like 1200 yards for the Texans then fell off the face of the earth (of course that was after I drafted him).
Leon "All I need is a chance to be the #1 RB) Washington

Great Topic Chef. Got a real kick looking back at my drafts the last several years. This year I was pretty high on Kenny Britt also, and I think we were all wrong about C.J. Spiller, Lamar Miller, Montee Ball, David Wilson (pre-injury) and especially Trent Richardson, but the two guys I really thought would be good and haven't been are Daryl Richardson and Eli Manning. I really thought Richardson would thrive in that offense and I really thought Eli would be a top 8 QB.

Others list:

In 2007 Cedric Benson was my 1st round pick when he finally got the starting job with the Bears and was terrible

In 2010 my first round pick was Randy Moss the year he lost his mind and played for 3 teams and was a complete bust. I still can't stand that guy because of that pick.

In 2010 my 4th round pick was Javid Best. Remember that guy.

Pretty sure Felix Jones and Jonathan Stewart could be on this list every year.

A couple of guys stick out to me that I always had a man crush on and would draft them no matter what the evidence suggested: Eddie Kennison, Joey Galloway, Cadillac Williams, Clinton Portis, Ricky Williams, Matt Hasselbeck, Donovan McNabb, Marc Bulger, Jamal Lewis.

Hope everybody else gets as big a kick out of this as I did.

Hey Bandit,
I'd like to go on record and say I was right in most those guys you mentioned in the first part. . Except Ball which on his own is enough to balance out all the "right" calls..geesh.
As for those other dudes? Galloway, Portis, "Weed" Williams and Jamal Lewis were generally pretty safe plays for a good five year stretch or so. Portis even held the single week scoring record in my money league for around 5 years, until Mike Vick exploded on that one Monday night.

This year its Tyler eifert....I`d thought he`d make a big impact, but so far eh.

I even put a 50$ bill that he`d catch more passes this season the Shane vereen.
When vereen got hurt 1st game of the season,i thought I`d be a shoe-in.
But now its not looking good.

As for the past,I gotta think about this one.

Mine this year was Trent Richardson...now I know he was a 1st round pick in most leagues...but I went even further and drafted him at the 3 spot in one league and at 2 in another....thats how sure I was on him being the man this year. Luckily with trades and free agent pick ups I was able to correct that mistake in those leagues....I even traded him for kenny stills in one league. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
