A better thread title would be,
"The Coach who ended The Patriots perfect season fired by the Jags"

Grudging respect for the man.
He did a great job in NY.

Yeah, I don't like them, but I respect the Parcells/Belichick/Coughlin coaching tree. You can't argue with their success or their brand of tough, defensive minded football.

Always had respect for the way he handled his biz. No BS type of guy. But it does seem like the Jags needed new direction.

When he resigned from the giants will remain a classic.

Hell they might as well keep Marrone and see how he can coach without the dictator standing over him!
That would mean the new GM would just be waiting to hire his own guy, probably best to start anew altogether.

No surprize really. Have to wonder if Marrone is out the door as well and the Jags clean house and start over.

Maybe they should start with that owner.

This type of house cleaning is why some teams will never win anything. You can't expect to ever be an SB champion if you don't have a stable franchise for a while (I'm not talking HCs here). How was TC the problem?

Jacksonville had a very inflated 2017 season with two bad teams in the division giving them three extra wins (they had split with the Colts in previous years), 4 wins in the AFC North where they have generally matched up well with most of the teams in that division. They also were benefitting from an ongoing process where teams get thrown off by rebuilt teams the first year.
