The proverbial bridge contract, should be interesting to see how he does the next 2 years and what that translates to.
I'm not a fan of the money, seems a bit high for a guy who just has (really) one full season under his belt but I also understand the finances of the game with age and free agency, contracts, etc. He is an older player (hard to believe he was drafted 7 years ago) with not a lot of NHL experience.
I guess overall it's not a bad gamble and hope he can parlay that into a good long term contract afterwards as a member of the Kings - means he did something right.
